Texas born and raised, daughter of informally trained artists and craftspeople, I draw inspiration from folk traditions, especially from the arts of the Mexican Dias de los Muertos, the European Danse Macabre, the Haitian Vodou banner, and the Colonial American needleworker. The paintings and papercuts of my DANZA MACABRA dramatize the reality of death as a part of life that we must embrace if we are to live with our whole hearts.
