I started in photography over 41 years ago. I was living in Fort Lauderdale at the time (I am originally from Connecticut). I bought a range-finder 35mm camera which broke soon after getting it. My neighbor lent me his Minolta 35mm SLR and I really got bit by the (photography) bug. The camera store gave me credit for the range finder and I bought an Olympus OM 1 35mm SLR.
Three months after starting, I began selling photographs. Soon after, I joined the Broward Art Guild in Fort Lauderdale, FL which gave me an avenue to be with a variety of artists, participate in competitions and take part in art shows. In four years time, before I moved from the area, I won about 30 awards in various competitions and art shows. I had one black and white photograph on display at the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art.
After I moved back to Connecticut in 1982, I entered a competition, won Best in Show and the judge bought the photograph.
Since then, I traveled throughout the country visiting forty four states and two dozen National Parks, soaking up the natural beauty of our country and taking images of what I saw.
