Sandy Holden was born in Chicago. She is a fun-loving, gregarious girl who loved to draw pictures and ride her horse Sonny in competition. At 15, Sandy dove off of a boat into shallow water and had a spinal cord injury. Sandy says, I lost my horse, and my body all in the same year. But Sandy is a strong willed survivor.
