I was born in Ohio and went all through school in Naples, Florida back when it was only 5,000 people. I had no opportunity to study art until college but knew, then that it was something I had to do in some form or other all my life. After college at Principia College in Elsah, Illinois, I married and started a career as an elementary school teacher. After 25 years as a teacher, using art in my classroom, I began painting again.
