Suzanne grew up in Northern Virginia, near Washington, DC, surrounded by museums, naturalists, and artists. College was a struggle to choose between her two loves, biology and studio art. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and worked for entomologists with the USDA Agricultural Research Service at the Smithsonian's Natural History Museum. Her love of art remained, and after sending her daughter off to college, she returned to college herself and finished her degree in Studio Art.
