Watercolor is my first love, my first art experience. Since picking up a watercolor brush at the beckoning of my grandmother; I have tried diligently to study and master the art of painting with this medium. After years of painting with watercolors, I still know there is much to learn.
I taught Art for 15 years in two small secondary schools in Texas. Teaching allowed me to be exposed to many other art media. I became very interested and excited about photography, colored pencil, and pen and ink drawing. The challenges and newness of the different media inspire me daily. The last few years I have traveled and been blessed with experiencing life in Texas, Hawaii, Oregon, and Thailand. I enjoy creating art work from the beauty that surrounds me. You should see all the photographs I have taken!
In addition to creating artwork, I also enjoy writing. I have a couple of blogs that at the moment are on hold as far as writing new articles due to my job. If you want to read some of the inspiring articles from the past, please go to, My Creativity Blog, http://mycreativityblog.com, where I share my thoughts on creativity and the artistic process. You can also read articles for children and homeschool parents at, Art For Homeschool, http://www.artforhomeschool.com. Maybe some day when I retire I will get back to writing for these blogs.
In addition to my creative, artsy side; I am also a real estate broker, licensed in Oregon and Hawaii. If you are interested in purchasing or selling property in Central Oregon, you can go to my website, www.terrygiltner.com.
So, you can call me an artist, art teacher, writer, patron of the arts, mother, grandmother, and real estate broker. I guess you could say I am a creative person with many interests. I thank God daily for all the creative blessings he has given me. I hope you enjoy viewing my work. Please come back often.
