After living in Western Massachusetts for thirty years, Therese Legere recently moved to the enchanting and inspiring Napa Valley of California. Seeing through the artists eye; she is documenting the colors, textures and light of the vineyards and mountains in her oil paintings. Her painting technique is initially Impressionist followed by drawing out certain contours. This process creates a stain glass effect that enhances the colors and light.

Therese Legeres personal journey as an artist began in her childhood. Born in Montreal, Quebec; she grew up in the Richelieu Valley, fertile with famous Quebecois artists. Legere went on to study Fine Arts at the College St-Laurent in Montreal. She was strongly influenced and formed by Jean Lefebure; a student and artist of the Montreal Automatiste movement in the fifties.

She has developed colorful Impressionist oil paintings, Intuitive Abstract Art, and created an Angels series. Twice, she produced over 100 pieces of art yearly in numerous varying sizes, media, and techniques.

She has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions in the Pioneer Valley of MA.

Find her work at the Napa Valley Art Gallery in Napa, at the Open Studios Napa Valley in September 2021, www.legereart.com, and Legereart on Instagram.

She is also a professional weaver and currently weaves luxurious chenille scarves and shawls. During the 80s, she produced fine woven garments and exhibited in juried shows in Montreal, Ottawa and Sherbrooke. www.etsy.com/shop/legerewear
