Therese Legere is a Canadian born artist and a longtime resident of the Pioneer Valley in Massachusets. She possesses a broad palette as an artist and works in oils, acrylics and oil pastels. Her work is both abstract and figurative.
She studied Fine Arts at the College St-Laurent in Montreal. Under the guidance of Jean Lefebure; a student and artist of the Automatiste movement in Montreal; she was strongly influenced and formed by his classical approach to color chemistry, drawing and oil and acrylic painting.
As a multi medium artist, she explores her inner and outer nature and depicts a variety of styles in her landscapes, portraits, still life, and abstract intuitive art. By living at the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland for 2.5 years, she studied meditation and developed an inner connection to her higher self and nurtured the development of her own intuitive art based on inner guidance and impulses, through colors and shapes. This knowledge and depth continues today to intrigue and guide her in all her work.
Currently, she is working on an Angel Series and impressionist pieces. She is inspired by the constant change in her forest surroundings in Western Massachusetts. #legereart
She is also a professional weaver and currently weaves luxurious chenille scarves and shawls. During the 80s, she produced fine woven garments and exhibited in juried shows in Montreal, Ottawa and Sherbrooke. www.etsy.com/shop/legerewear
