Thor Wickstrom is a classically trained oil painter. In the tradition of French 'plein air' painters, he paints outdoors on the streets of New York and in the Berkshire hills, using traditional materials - a field easel, wooden palette, fine oil colors and linen canvas. Using painterly brushwork, he makes realist landscape paintings, cityscapes and studio interiors that capture the natural light of the moment and the vibrant colors of the day.
