I became interested in forging steel in the early 1990s. For the past ten years my work has focused on directly constructed sculpture in which individual forged elements are assembled into a single sculpture. As for technique, I heat metal ,usually steel but sometimes copper or bronze, in a gas forge until it is red hot and then hammer it into the desired shape. In addition to this blacksmithing type of work, I use grinders, sanders, torches and welders.
