Co. WEXFORD ... images

Wexford county occupies the south-eastern corner of Ireland and has a long coastline fronting the Irish Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. On the north it is bounded by the hills of Wicklow and on the west by the River Barrow and the Blackstairs Mountains. The history of Wexford goes back to pre-Christain times and important chapters of Ireland's story have been enacted in the county. Above all, Wexford is rich in memories of 1798, when the insurgent pikemen fought historically against overwhelming odds. Don't Miss... in Wexford the sandy beaches of Rosslare, Courtown and other resorts, angling and canoeing on the Slaney, climbing in the Blackstairs and golf and shooting in many parts of the county. Visit Enniscorthy, Wexford Town, Kilmore Quay with its thatched cottages, Majestic and Wild Hook Head, Slade Castle, Ballyhack, the JFK Homestead, New Ross and the Dunbrody Famine Ship. For more visit www.mywobblyireland.com......... Enjoy.
