Co. KERRY... images

Kerry, in the extreme south-west of Ireland, may be divided broadly into two main sections- the mountainous southern portion with its three large hill-ribbed promontories of Beara, Iveragh and Dingle, and the comparatively small area of undulating plain extending to the Shannon estuary in the north. All along the coast, from north to south, numerous sandy bays alternate with cliffs and rocky headlands. Inland, too, there is great beauty, among the sandstone hills, the glens and river valleys of the county; and here also is Killarney, with its perfect blend of mountain and island studded lake, wooded shore and glen. Good scenery, however, is not the only attraction of Kerry. There are numerous coastal resorts in the county, excellent angling waters, the finest climbing in Ireland, (including Carrantuehill, 3,414 feet the highest Irish mountain) good golf courses and a wealth of ancient monuments. For every visitor it is a splendid natural holiday-land, offering healthful enjoyment in heart-lifting surroundings. Visit Killarney, Dingle, Ballybunion, Portmagee, Sneem, Kenmare, Waterville on the Ring of Kerry and more.....then .........visit www.mywobblyireland.com
