Since the name Evaristo Buendia-Carrera is a mouthful for many people, Evaristo chose to publish his art work under the artist’s name ‘Vari’. He was born in Mexico City, studied Graphic Design and Communication in ‘La Academia de San Carlos’, the Fine School of Arts at the University of Mexico.
After graduating as a Bachelor of Art, he became teacher of silk screen printing and serigraphy in the School of Design, a vocational training school in his country. Two years later he founded a successful vocational training center - ‘Silk Screen Printing Institute and Workshop’.
Vari taught hundreds of students, many traveled to take weekend classes with him.
He immigrated to America in 1994, working for spanish publications as sports photographer and writer. Vari refined his skilled in Serigraphy in Texas.
Vari moved to California/USA in 2004. His biggest passion in life is Photography. He created more than 30 galleries at http://pbase.com/evaristo. In 2006, he was invited to show his ‘Digital Flowers’ at the “House and Garden Show” Exposition in San Jose, California. 1981 Vari received the first place award in a nationwide photo-contest in Mexico; and another first place award in the Wildcare Center Photography contest in 2009. He is Free-lance photographer and a contributing to www.Oursausalito.com
