The Parthenon Posters
The Parthenon, built on the Athenian Acropolis, is the most influential structure in architecture in the world. Completed in 438 B.C., it was originally a temple to the goddess Athena and was built over an older temple that was destroyed by the Persians in 480 B.C. The great gold and ivory statue of Athena was a treasured monument, and the building still stands today. Parthenon posters show it in closeup and as a distant landscape.
