This is for all types of art for Mother's Day in the US or elsewhere! Please submit images that relate to a typical Mother's Day gift of an image or greeting card. Keep in mind these images can be viewed by Google search and why this post is being started far enough in advance to be hopefully picked up in a timely manner by the search engines. Even if you do not celebrate Mother's Day in this time frame join in anyway and hopefully reap some of the benefits of the large market here in the US! There will be a lot of images, please do not enlarge your image(s). It would be a good idea to give a description of your art.

Flowers, Hyacinths In the style of Van Gogh for Mother's Day. The beginnings of Mother’s Day goes back to the ancient Greeks in worshiping their goddesses Rhea and Cybele. The real breakthrough for honoring all mothers reflecting our modern Mother’s Day came during the 1600s in England. Cakes and trinkets were taken taken as gifts. In 1908 in United States Anna Jarvis is given credit for the idea of Mother’s Day in the US. She then went on to encourage the government to establish a national holiday to honor mothers everywhere. As a result of her work by 1911 Mother’s Day was celebrated throughout the US, Mexico, Canada, South America, China, Japan and Africa. By 1914 the second Sunday in May was proclaimed as National Mother’s Day and all Americans were asked to honor their mothers on the day.

'I will love you always' is perfect for Mothers Day. Beautiful roses peep through an ornate heart, like love issuing forth. This has been created in specially selected colours. Pink is the colour of love, femininity, tenderness and the universal love of oneself and for others. Yellow is the colour of happiness, positivity, joy and remembrance.

FROM MY DESCRIPTION: I dedicate this design in honor of mothers everywhere to whom God has given the great blessing of conceiving, carrying, bearing, raising and/or teaching children... either those they physically bore, those they adopted, or any children they "mother" in any way. I also dedicate this to the fathers who have stood by the mother of their children and helped them to conceive, carry, bear, raise and/or teach these children. Even tho we can't see the new life in a seed, it is there....just like in each fertilized egg a new life is already there.... waiting to be nurtured and loved, and God entrusts this wonderful gift to parents...especially to mothers, who He allows to have this new life grow and blossom within their wombs. Their wombs are truly God's Garden of Life for this world. Cherish that life. Nurture that life. Love that life. This lovely fractal design which reminds me of a pregnant woman with blossoming new life in her womb, was digitally created.

Aishet Chayil: Woman of Valor
"An accomplished woman, who can find? Her value is far beyond pearls."
This image is an expression of a 3,000 year old hymn that outlines the all-encompassing virtues of a woman of valor. The Book of Proverbs concludes with this 22 versed, acrostic poem. The hymn concludes by stating that a woman's deeds are the ultimate testimony to her greatness.
Traditionally, it is recited in Jewish homes when Shabbat is welcomed on Friday evening.
This tribute is often interpreted as a metaphor for the Sabbath Queen, the Shechina, Torah and the soul.
The center of interest is a multi-layered orb that represents the strength and depth of a woman of valor with her many accomplishments and abilities.
Pearls are found throughout the design to remind us of the value of such a woman. They also form the top of a crown, which alludes to the Sabbath Queen as well as the author of this paean, King Solomon.
The flowing lines remind us that life, strength and spirituality flow through this source, a woman of valor.
In contrast to the lyrical movement, the vertical shafts in red, anchor the woman to the ultimate source.

Wicker Porch Chair Painting Effect is a photograph that was manipulated to simulate a colorful oil painting. The porch in the photograph was part of a Mississippi Cottage, modular housing that the state provided as a relief from the FEMA travel trailers. This one was located in the coastal town of Bay Saint Louis, MS.
This image of wicker chairs with a wood table between them, comfortable cushions and a coordinating rug is meant to invoke memories of carefree summer days.
As the sun rises in the sky the porch helps to shade this seating area making it a refuge from the noon day rays and the heat of the day.
Hang this image in your home and then sit back, enjoy the view and image a warm summer day, sitting on this porch, sipping on a cool glass of lemonade or sweet tea!

This Tawny Daylily, sometimes considered an invasive plant is waiting to be pollinated. It's stamens are reaching upwards, waiting for the wind or insects to complete the process.
As I look at the stamens reaching for the sky I think about how we reach for our goals. Are our goals those of this flower? To pollinate or reproduce? Or are our goals of a spiritual nature? To reach upward for guidance, discernment or in praise?

Vintage Peony is an altered photograph taken of a peony in full bloom. This particular flower was blooming on one of my mother's many peony shrubs in Ohio.
The peony is an herbaceous perennial plant blooming in late spring and early summer. They are native to Asia, Europe and Western North America. They are some of the most popular plants in temperate regions and are sold as cut flowers on a large scale.
Flowers range in color from purple red to white or yellow. Some of the white blooms are rimmed in pink or red. Many are fragrant.

Family photo dedicated to my mother who passed in 1991 Mary Margret Needham Hoard Yes, that is me with the clown outfit. lol, lol. My older brother passed away in 2008 who is not in this photo which was taken on Mardi Gras Day in New Orleans, Circa 1950's.
I also dedicate my water color drawing to my mother. The Southern Azalea was her favorite flower, the entire front yard of the family home would come ablaze with vivid pink azaleas which were nearly over 50 years old. Neighbors would stop by and taken group photos in front of her prized azalea plants. When the family home was sold after her death the new owner removed all the beautiful azalea bushes.

In March of 1999, a fresh red rose was presented to me and each of my siblings in honor of my mother as we were about to depart the cemetery concluding her funeral. Arriving home later that night, I absentmindedly left the rose on the back floor of my car where it lay secretly and discreetly for over a month before rediscovering it, completely dried yet still in tact. I placed the single dried rose in an empty green vase and set it upon my kitchen windowsill where it faces eastwardly greeting the sunrise of each new day.
This dried flower is not only a reminder of my mother and her beauty but also a symbol of her strength, determination and fortitude. My mother lost her struggle with cancer, but her legacy lives on for the many people that loved her and miss her still.
This version was created using additional texture layers via Photoshop. I also removed the original color and digitally painted colors back into the image for a more artistic appearance. The result is a paint effect.

This is my impression of orchids slowly cascading into a sea of various shades of violet, purples and lavenders. I especially wanted these flowers to appear to be floating in the air.
Orchids symbolize love, beauty, fertility, refinement, thoughtfulness and charm. Purple orchids symbolize admiration, respect, dignity and royalty. This exotic flower brings such beauty and grace to any occasion.
