l Welcome To Our Family. GENERAL INFORMATION AND HOW WE DO THINGS HERE: Please use the URL for your image postings, rather than the copy and paste code. Posting the photo itself, rather than a link will make it difficult for people who don't have high speed internet, as well it might cause people to skip over your post without promoting. If you want others to promote your work, you should do the same for them. We "do unto others." Those of us who take a full part in promoting ourselves and others try to do so for a 24 hour period or longer if possible. That includes opening the Big Skip and promoting the images in there too. Only 1 image is allowed within a 24 hour period, both in this discussion and in the group. There is NO contest vote solicitation allowed on the discussion boards. If you are posting nudes, or other questionable images, please post a warning notice with your link. There are children here, as well as adults who choose not to look at that type of image. Please do not post links from your pixels.com account or any other FAA mirror site. It tends to create problems for some people and most will skip those links. ABSOLUTELY NO images of nudity, death, cruelty or violence of any kind on the main board, where you have no ability to post a warning. Finally, JUST HAVE FUN!! This is an incredible group of people who will make you feel welcome from your first post!! TO ALL NEWCOMERS: I realize that some of you are so new to not only the group, but to FAA, that I thought perhaps a little clarification is in order. I'm sure you've noticed that while we can't require anyone to vote/like anyone elses work, we do tend to treat people the way people treat others. But I also realized that you may not have a clue what we're talking about, so........... to "like" someone's work, you click on their blue link, which opens up that particular piece. In the upper right corner, you'll see a few little icons. One is a thumbs up, which is what you press to "like/vote" for that piece of art. Most of us here press that whether we love the work or not. It's how we help each other to move up in the FAA search standings (even though FAA now says it doesn't count for very much, but that's now past history and it is what it is). That's all we ask of you. Should you choose to do so however, you can also click on the little heart (which is to add a work to your own "favorites" list), and you'll also find buttons for the various social media sites if the artist chooses to activate any or all of those buttons. These are the ways we promote each other. You may also choose

for all our frustrations...this lady has the right idea! have a great day.
Off to selling crap, I don't know about other parts of the country but if it isn't cheap cheap cheap it wont sell at a garage sale in TX, and even then they want it for less. So we sold a boat load of crap yesterday with a top price of $4!

thanks for doing the posting Anne! I got excited when I saw there was an email in my inbox from Kim, hoping that meant she was powered up again. Sadly not, but each day is one day closer. That's what we keep telling ourselves with St John too...we still have not heard from our friend there except to see her name on the safe check in page. I watched a home made video of a 'town hall meeting' from St John on Monday scouring the crowd faces but nothing.
I was also watching a video where Tim Duncan (basketball star) and Michael Bloomberg (former mayor on NY) went down with aid. Tim Duncan raised 5-6 million I hear, starting with a $1 million matching gift. We chose to send money to them at the start despite the fact it was an 'unknown' in the relief charity world so I was doubly happy to see that aid arriving already and exclusively for St John. They are also with a Face the Nation crew (I think that's the one) so we'll be looking at the sunday morning talk shows to see what they come up with.
ok, that's it, gotta get ready to sell stuff...

Bluelining today. Going to my grandsons 9th birthday party, then having whole family over for dinner.
Terri, don't worry, I was upset too when I saw the news about London.
Saw some great works today.
Have a good weekend, and yes, Joan they like people to give it away. That's why I gave up having garage sales. Would rather give it away to salvation army or good will, or veterans assoc.Less work and more satisfaction.

Good morning,
Joan, I hope you hear from your friend soon. I've seen some stories about the USVI and other islands down there, and the devastation is horrific. I feel very fortunate that I get fairly frequent phone calls from Kim, and that I've heard from my other Florida friends and know they're all safe, although I'm not happy that Kim still has no power. I know I freak if our power is out for even one hour.

Just stopping in to say Hi and to let you know that I will be catching up. I am very tired and have not been able to work the program for the last few days. I have been needing to take some time off and rest my body. I will be looking at posts and promoting as I can. I, truly, do love looking at your contributions, they uplift my spirit. My best, Delores
