Cloth - 24hr Image Thread

Cloth, material.

NO CLOTHES

Anything BUT clothes. Not even a Dobby sock. No clothing... Just material, cloth that is not an item of clothing

Prayers - Unanswered-interrupted ,purposely unfinished, the rough under painting, in response to the 'human comedy'
now occurring because of unpeaceful elements in our world, that undermine our best intentions for peace.

NOTE: This is very painterly, unfinished, purposely. Please examine closely at 100%.

When will it ever end....finish...man's inhumanity to man?
.
I have left it unfinished to symbolically illustrate my thoughts in protest.

Helmets and swords placed on a piece of jute. Hope that qualifies.

Iconic still life of the sword and helmet of a northman or Viking. A sharp blade and a good helmet combined in one image make for a cool photo.
The Helmet is done after a histroic finding and is called "Gjermundbu"-Helmet.
Oh and ... historic Viking helmets had no(!) horns.

Iconic still life of the sword and helmet of a german crusader knight. A sharp blade and a good helmet combined in one image make for a cool photo.
The Helmet was inspired by a ground-finding near the german town of Dargen.
The sword is an authentic and museum quality recreation (certified from the blacksmith) of a genuine historic 13th century sword, it is consecrated by a priest of my hometown and goes by the Name "Barmunge"
"Barmunge" is an old medieval german dialect word for "compassion". It could be interpreted as mercyful if left in the sheath or showing mery when striking the final blow, ending the pain of the woundet opponent.

Iconic still life of the short sword (Gladius) and helmet of a roman Legionnaire. A sharp and pointed blade and a good helmet combined in one image make for a cool still life photo.
The original helmet (Typ Italic G) was found in a cave near Hebron. There is much evidence that the helmet was lost during the Bar-Kochba insurrection (132-135 AD). Typical of this helmet is the iron crossbar. These crossbars appeared, often later, in the early 1st century. AD. Just at the time of the Emperor Trajan's wars against the Dacians

Trivia - no idea so a guess Ann Boleyn?

I thought I had nothing for the theme but someone kindly pointed out I do.

One of a small series of exotic oriental hookah pipes, this is a very ornate silver and blue hookah pipe, sitting on a silver platter in front of a pink and gold backdrop comprised of lengths of velvet cloth.

Made out of cloth by Mary Pickersgill, in this case, and not Betsy Ross. What kind of cloth, you may ask? The blue area of the flag and the red and white stripes are made of English wool bunting. The stars are made of cotton.

I photographed this flag flying over Fort McHenry in Baltimore, MD.

I have it on good authority straight from the UK news wire that our stabby, somewhat paranoid Lady of the Tapestries is none other than Queen Elizabeth the First of Her Name.

I bet her tapestries had rod pockets.
