I posted somec 40 pictures over the past weeks. Some appear when the name of the subject is put in the search box and some don't. I have put all the right information and keywords and still the same. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks
I will give you a heads up that you are going to find out that there are some idiosyncracies with the search that take some getting used to at first. Search results are weighted to return images by the best seller to the top so do not be alarmed if you do not always see the results you would think they should be.
But do not be alarmed. It is really not all that important compared to other aspects of the site like marketing your images and on your AW or Primum website where you are the only one that comes up in the search.
right now your keywords are kind of all over. some have a lot, some have very few. but if you want your name to be found, put that. for the most part the search is sorted by sales, and if you don't have a record of that, and the keyword is popular, you'll be further from the front.
Thank you, however what I found is that the subject matter is missing ie: I enter Glen Campbell or Queen or John Lennon and it does not exist at all. Yet it's there when I look myself up.
I guess I will just have to carry on and swee how it goes. Again thank you for your help.
There are several reasons images are not found in search
1/ The keywords do not contain the actual word being searched for (including a name which should be searched for in the artists directory, not the art search or by using the drop down to change from keyword to artist on the search box)
1.a/ ........Or the keywords are so generic (such as abstract, sea, sky, landscape, sunrise, etc etc) they are being lost in a sea of over 7 million images. Use a site like http://www.mykeyworder.com/ to get better keywords
2/ The keywords have not been on the site for over 24 hours
3/ The images have a safe filter on
4/ The images are in password protected galleries
5/ They are past the end page we show for any one search, which is not all images. We stop showing after around 200 images. If more images on the site than that it may well be at the back of the search.
6/ You have not had a headshot on the site for the past 24 hours
As it says on the pricing pages, non-household items are on http://pixels.com and premium sites only
Pixels.com is going to become the parent website that sits above all the other websites. As we introduce new products (e.g. iPhone cases, calendars, puzzles, etc.), each new product will appear on Pixels.com. The "fine art" domains will continue to only sell products that fall under the "fine art" heading (e.g. canvas prints, framed prints, etc.)
