It's wonderful you are, deservedly, there, Abbie.
Thanks also for the gorgeous photo, two of 'the best' Mods anywhere, anytime.
Say thanks to Sean, too, from me.
Safe journey home......full of fab memories...tell us everything !,lol.
P.S. Sorry about sore feet, sigh. (change shoes, lol,a bit late/advice.)
So glad you were able to come to the USA, Abbie and so glad you finally got a chance to meet JC !
I also had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of years ago when he lived in the Florida Panhandle. We had a nice lunch and I got to see him in action on a brief photo shoot. It was easy to see why he is such a great photographer and artist.
Buy a pair of new & comfortable sneakers, have a great time and a safe flight back to the UK!
Great picture of both of you!!! So glad, Abbie, you got to get away and have this trip to the big TX and meet JC in person. He seems to be very much the gentleman. Sorry about the foot, hope it is better and you were able to get back out and enjoy. Y'all have a great time!! Abbie, have a safe trip home!!!
Glad you got to see Texas! The best of the USA as far as I am concerned. I loved the two years I spent there even if it was in the Air Force. Biggest mistake I ever made was not moving back there when I had the chance to work for NASA.
And I can't think of a better tour guide than everyone's favorite snake wrangler.
And yes, please do heed Mike's warning! Being close to St. Patrick's day, you do not want to be hauling any of JC's little buddies back to the "old country"!
I am glad you are having a wonderful time and that you two finally got to spend some time together.
We wouldn't expect JC to be anything less. A Bad arse, but a southern gentleman just the same.
Lol. That was my first thought...…. JC dragging Abbie out in to the bayous . Abbie going through the mire and muck dragging herself by her elbows to sneak up on alligators and wrestle them. Or at the very least - just take their picture like JC does.
Maybe they don't have bayous in TX.
Tumble weeds and rattlesnakes , as he is teaching her to catch them in mid strike.
Next up - roping cattle .
Hope the rest of your trip continues to be just as great.
Now the place I shot this was only 15 minutes from her hotel but it was cool out and wasn't sure the sneks would be out. That and Abbie being from the UK and all wasn't sure she would appreciate armed sneks.
Yupp, I remember. I was just a youngin staring out selling then. I remember someone asking you how you got an eagle at sunrise and you said magic, I cheat. Since then I have done whatever I want to create my vision of how an image should be.
Wow, what a great photo of JC and Abbie, sounds like you had a great time visiting the great state of Texas. I was amazed of the mountain ranges and terrain as I traveled through Texas, it was awesome, I did get the opportunity to visit Marfa, Texas a small artist community in west Texas,
If you feet are sore Abbie, get down to Bandera and do some horseback riding in the beautiful hill country! I had a great vacation there years and years ago. Hope you are having a good time - you deserve it!
I've been wanting to move to Waco Texas ever since watching Fixer Upper with Chip and Joanna Gains. LOL Wonderful Shaun got everyone together for what sounds like a VERY nice outing! Does JC live in Texas now? Are you still training military pilots?
The 737 Max 8 is a good aircraft. Boing did a few things with it that should have been brought to the attention of their customers. That said, I am confident our pilots have the experience and training to deal with anything that happens. As I understand it the first officer in the Lion Air crash had 200 hours total flight time. To put it into perspective the FAA requires 1500 TT to even start right seat in an airline. Our straight civilian time applicants will usually have over 10,000 hours before they can get an interview.
JC, I know you are smart and you have a plan. Sounds to me it is going quite well, congratulations on your new job! You can't always pick and choose your location when you take on a new job especially working for a big airline. There are only so many of those. I'm so glad you like it. From what I understand Texas didn't experience the economic depression like most of the rest of the country. There would be much to do and see in and around Houston. Maybe I could visit and take a jaunt over to Waco. LOL
You probably like seeing the different snakes there. Rattlers would be more common I would think. Kind of a snake heaven. Of course that's you and not me. You take the photos and we will admire them!
People here don't need to worry about the problem experienced by the inexperienced pilot on that downed flight. As JC said NO ONE gets an interview UNLESS they have 10,000 hours of flight time and of those most are military pilots with jet flight time. Of those interviewed many do not get the civilian job. Only the cream of the crop fly for the big airlines.
JC, you would know the numbers on how many are interviewed and those that actually get the position of pilot. FAA requirements are far lower which no airline carrying that many people would consider less than 10,000 hours. Fortunately we have a large Air Force that produces a lot of pilots. Some go on to work for airlines in other countries.
