:-) I loved winning the original. All the way to UK it flew!! Awesome

I used the fact I won it on a site the other day when they asked about awards won!

And to mid-western Canada! Abbie -- when you can -- could you please restore the link from your Page #3 of previous winners -- mine goes to an old page that I closed long ago.

Thanks :)

The awesome honor of becoming a recipient of the Tony Award, came at a very low time in my life, losing my house (Super Storm Sandy) and dealing with the initial hole in my head.

By the way, did I miss something?....Doesn't the current recipient still choose the next award winner?

Abbie Shores

It's slightly changed now, Roger, due to some things behind the scenes.

This way we get to keep an eye on it and where it's going

I'll do that shortly Carmen

Tony Murray

Yes Roger in a way they do. They can nominate and choose that person once they are "in the system"

I noticed you have to have their e-mail and I don't.

My pick is Victor Molev: https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/victor-molev.html?tab=artworkgalleries

One of his pieces:

Please use the website Tony linked to. :-)

I do not understand this... " noticed you have to have their e-mail and I don't. "

VIVA Anderson

Abbie, on the Nomination page at the link to nominate form, it asks the nominator for the email of their chosen nominee.....and we
usually don't have people's emails, just the Contact on their profile page, not their personal email.

Thanks all involved. This is a beautiful award and so far, all recipients are so deserving of their Wins.
I'm going to think long about if/who I might nominate.

Abbie Shores

It should say, if you have it

Abbie Shores

It says

Do you have their email? Please place here if yes.

And you don't have to fill that part out........

Great seeing everyone, Tony, Carmen, Roger so glad of your recovery and you are doing ok, hello Abbie, Lise, VIVA, I am sorry to hear Susan is not feeling well. I for one was floored when nominated and received the award. I pretty much shared it with the entire City of New Orleans then sent it to Susan who also was in shock. I was so humbled and an honor to be part of a great tradition here at Fine Art America. Thanks Tony for re-posting I had wondered what became of the award since Susan had received the award last. I had been so busy with client projects had not been in the limelight of things here in the discussions......I hope Susan is doing better, I miss seeing her around....

The link Tony provided above I visited that site about two weeks ago or so, I followed a link from Kathy McCullen a link about writing, I just glanced and left, is this site the site Abbie designed its beautiful!!! Can any Fine Art America member join that site? Is there a fee associated? I did find the revision pages 1,2,3 and 4 all about The Tony Award II. Thank you for sharing and including the images I took of The Tony Award II while it was visiting New Orleans, LA I still get inquiries sentiments pertaining to the beautiful design of the award Tony Created and introduced.

Just looking back on the list of previous winners, makes me feel nostalgic. Some are still here, some come in and out but aren't around as much, and some are sadly no longer with us. Seeing Hal on there was sort of surreal. It's a unique kind of community here at FAA, and it's great to be a part of.

Also, I agree with Michael, your site is looking great Abbie!

Lois Bryan

Abbie the magazine looks awesome. I was about to hop in and comment around but I'm on the wrong computer and out of town, so nowhere near my spiral notebook with the passwords. If anything happens to that notebook, I'm toast. Agree with Shana about looking over the names ... the creme de al creme for sure.

I wonder why :(

BLOCKED??? There is no nudity :-O

Chance Kafka

I don't know! I can get onto things like YouTube and even Facebook. They do block nudity, games, or sites without the right SSL certificates. Not sure what else. thought you might like to be aware though!

Abbie Shores

Yes, thank you. It may be the SSL although it's secure

Abbie.

Confused by this statement;
Nominee - Who is it you think should receive the Tony Award? Please note they must be aware you are nominating them. *

No problem letting it go for vetting by whoever decides, but we have to tell the INDIVIDUAL we are nominating them??
Why do we need to let them know we are nominating them.
I feel several are deserving, yet one particularly stands predominant in my mind.
Do I have to contact that person to let him or her know. If so, why?

Whenever I was nominated for special group features, I was informed by the group administrator.
It was always an honor and a surprise, and I wholeheartedly appreciated the person nominating me;however,
I would have felt awkward if someone had emailed telling me they were going to do so, like they needed my permission...

Am I missing something here?

Tony Murray

Mike, The reason this is being done is so that the "Potential" recipient is on board with passing it along. For example you might nominate a person who may not necessarily be OK with receiving it or be able to ship the award to the next recipient. In that case you would nominate someone else. The current holder (to be announced in a few weeks) will be able to look at the potential list of nominees and be assured the award will be appreciated as well as moved along to the next person. It's slightly more complex than in the past but this is the result of unforeseen issues and loss of the first award. If you are feeling especially humble, you can also nominate yourself.

Thank you Tony and Abbie!

So So Happy for those so honored but respectfully don't feel I would hardly come close to those that I feel are most deserving.
I informed my nominee and await a reply.

Hopefully it will be accepted so I can start filling out the form properly!

Here "Tony" is, in all his (or her) glory, in a place of honor on the mantle!!! If weather and car issues cooperate, it's my hope to give Tony an outing to one or two of the lovely local spots ... and get some fun snaps to post. With any luck, Buddy-The-Dog may even be featured. 😊

Mary thank you!!! The photo base of that one was taken at Brighton Azalea Gardens, which was only about a 5 minute drive from where we used to live. I keep meaning to get back there around Mother's Day to visit ... such a lovely place during Azalea season!!! I'm ready for fall and cooler temperatures, but there's no denying that early spring can be magical!!

Dear Laurel, thank you!!! So so cool that you enjoyed that one ... it was created from the imagination ... I seem to have stumbled on a theme for paths leading out of the forest .. wonder if there's a deeper meaning I should explore?? Anyway ... thank you, thank you!!!!

And Viva ... thank you so much!!!! And how fun that you chose that image to post!!! Another one of the freehand pieces ... my favorite part of that one was the blending ... it's sooo soothing to do!!!!

Well, here's Buddy ... tucked in among a few of his toys (which get put away every night ... and which get dragged out again throughout the day, everyday!!!). This time, I put Tony in the mix, just for the fun of it and the photo op. Don't worry, other than a dignified sniff, Buddy did not use Tony as a chew toy!!!

Lois,

I LOVE this Buddy and Tony image! The look on Buddy's face is priceless. He is obviously not impressed... and much too classy a fellow to chew on Tony!

Lois Bryan

Thanks, Kathy .. Buddy is a great little model, but there's usually a hint of "what the?" attitude in his expressions. Or ... cooperative but resigned to my antics. I read somewhere that dogs don't like the big black eye of the full frame cameras. I know my Samoyed was like that. If she saw me coming at her with the camera, she would turn her head (which in doggie-speak means Go Away.). But the above was taken with the cell phone ... so .. no big black eye staring back at Buddy! Hence .. bored-curiosity. And probably waiting for me to turn my head so he could give Tony a couple more good sniffs.

Love your work and your comments on mine... Thanks.
Most deserving for the Tony. Artists like Lois are the very reason this award exists... Many many congratulations !

DJ thank you so much for your wonderful words and sentiment. It's really interesting to me that you chose that image to highlight. It's from way back, taken in dear Ellicott City MD (which has seen so much grief) ... and I clearly remember the day I shot it. I'd taken my son over to get his car fixed ... and the two of us strolled around the town a little bit. Some rare mother-son time. It was a gorgeous day. This image itself kind of represents the beginnings of my transition from straight photography to tinkering around. The colors are very strong, and I know i did a few other things ... cloning stuff out I guess ... but at the time what I did to that pic felt so daring!!! As strong and wild as it is ... with perhaps a too tightly cropped top (poor cupola) I still smile when I see it!! Thank you again so so much!!!

Dear Janet thank you so much ... and I am honored to join you in the ranks of this wonderful group!! You chose a fun mix of images ... a couple of my digital-paint-y things, one of which is Mr Buddy-Da-Dog ... and a wonderful photo I actually took on our trip up to Massachusetts to pick Buddy up from his breeder!!! And the roses, by the way, were from my son for Mother's Day this year!!

Janice thank you, thank you!!! So glad you enjoyed that one ... I'm working on another version ... but from the other side of the stream ... and trying to create a more fall-like vision. The bridge played a part in the Civil War battle of Sharpsburg / Antietam ... which took place in September ... so an autumn look might be good, too. To stand there now, it's so beautiful ... on the one hand it's hard to believe what took place ... but then there are those shivvers down your back, and the hair on your arms that stands up ....

Debra thank you ... you found my Peachie ... there's nothing like a good dog when you need someone to talk to about your day!!! "I'm Listening" just seemed like the perfect title. Glad you enjoyed that one!!!!

Many thanks, Janine!!! What an amazing instinct you have!!! Each one of the ones you posted was captured near our little ski cabin close to Bedford, Pa. If you ski ... or are ever in the area in wintertime, and you'd like to go back to the 1960s ... (if you're old enough to remember the 60s?) ... then visit the ski lodge at Blue Knob!!! It's an amazing place ... and very definitely has a nostalgic vibe!!
