Anyone Seen What Has Happened To Twitter

Twitter has had one of the biggest face lifts I have ever seen on a SM.

I think this is only happened today.

Mobile looks the same, if I get time, I'll get back on the computer

Mine changed last week. I think I like the changes.

Mine changed a while back.
Not sure I like it, but it is their platform.
I guess it is here to stay, at least until the programmer needs to justify their job and redo it again.

Mine changed too recently. Don't like it. The feed looks really squeezed. (PC)

I don't know what's going on with Twitter.

I don't go there all that much but tried to the other day and I got logged out, forgot my password and now the reset password doesn't want to work.

Maybe my problem has to do with the changes they are making? I'll try again when I won't mind being aggravated.

David, funny you should mention this, I went on twitter last night after not even signing on for months and I was wondering where the heck I was. I liked it because the art work I was sharing was all there and I still have some 4,000 plus followers. I need to update my profile and all that but I have changed the website to promote my shopify store there as well.

it looks a lot more like how they used to do it, before they tried to look like facebook. now i can follow people without having to hover over a link.

i almost never look at this site, so i don't know how i feel about the changes other than its easier to follow people again.

i know they changed or will change something instagram, getting likes or seeing them. they say people are getting a little nuts over them, and hiding them, they think, will help. it won't.

I noticed this a few days ago, and my immediate reaction wan't positive. I may take a look at the links Dan posted when I have time.

On my end it has been like that for at least the past month or so, and I hate it. I hate the squished design of the feed with the two huge sidebars on the right and the left. I also hate how the pictures are cropped to a small flat rectangle, which makes a lot of the posts look terrible. The only part of the new redesign that I do like is that it is much easier/faster to retweet now.

BTW thanks Dan for that tip! I followed the directions on Digg's page and it works! But I don't know if it will stay like that permanently or not. I will let you all know.

I noticed the change yesterday. Not sure I like it but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Mike Breau

One thing that is disturbing; they don't date the tweets anymore, so it's much harder to figure when you tweeted last. I already go in and retweet my followers quite extensively; but, in the older format how far back date-wise was much easier.

Western Exposure

Thanks for posting those links, Dan!

Mostly cosmetic. Not seeing anything that will actually improve performance. But then again, I am done trying to learn new SM platforms. I will leave that to the younger crowd. Have fun!

I've had it for quite some time, and it hasn't grown on me yet. There are a couple of tweaks I like, but there are previous settings I prefer that I can't select as options. I went back to the old version, at least until they force me to have the update. :)

Mario Carta

I like it.

I can't find a Log-Out button on the new design. Where is it?

Mario Carta

Martha, on the main menu at the bottom it has a drop down "more" that's where you will find "log out". :-)

it's a horror show. plus, for whatever reason, the scrolling hiccups on both computers and the iphone ... so ... maybe it's my internet ... ??? ... but sheesh.

... if it ain't broke ... ooo ... let's mess it up!!!!

Andrew Read

Yes, I can't say that I'm too keen on it because it doesn't seem to be working. No notifications, can't see no feeds or photos and it keeps telling me to refresh the page.

Andrew Read

Tried Twitter again just now and shows no tweets, says in the right hand corner "Something went wrong, please try again" Ummm how many times do they expect me to keep trying before I give up and delete the whole thing, lol.

Mario Carta

Mine is working fine, what I like most is the analytics give a very concise view of how my post are being engaged and it's all right there a click away. Maybe I like it because I paid little attention to the previous version and never got familiar with it to get attached to it.

Western Exposure

Lois, it's not your internet. It's been on and off since the site revamp. I've gone back to the old version. Didn't like the looks of the new one.

Lois Bryan

@ Western Exposure ... ooo didn't know we could go back to the old version, I'll have to give that a try. Also, is it just me or are all photos just lopped off at the knees? Sigh sigh sigh

Greetings David, I would bet Donald T seen it first, I would bet my social security check....lol, lol, lol, lol

I do not frequent the site as much as I should but since the launch of the billboard contest I had been visiting regularly. I preferred the original version, instead of going to your home page, the moment you sign in it goes to the new opening page, the moment you click on profile tab it does take you to the original header page, which appears in a smaller window.. it seems to have a generic look to it. It interferes with my favorites bar which is below the search engine tab on my lap top page.....I use windows 10 with google as my home page. I was thinking I could move the tab bar off to the right or left or bottom but not certain how to do it at the moment......

Thanks Dan for the links,

Western Exposure

Lois, Dan posted a link to a plugin earlier in this discussion. That' what I used to get the old version back.

Lois Bryan

@ Western Exposure ... I'll have to take a look at that, thank you. Just switched computers (and OS) and tried again, found bupkis. 'Bout all I managed to do was annoy myself even more and write snarky comments on my own images addressed to @Twitter ... hahahah ... yeah, that'll make 'em sit up and take notice.

< shaking head at self and laughing >

Michael Hoard

I just noticed something odd, when you click on a photo of a tweet I am always accustomed to click upper right to clear a screen or collapse a screen, they have the X on the left side. I am right handed now I have to slide cursor right to left...weird.....

Lois Bryan

... got Dan's hack to work on the new computer (Mojave OS) but the old one (Yosemite OS) .. nothing but spinning wheels ... waited at least 5 minutes with the occasional refresh ... the "more" button isn't activated either. Sigh ... well, half a sigh and half a Yay.

: / : ))

Michael Hoard

Hello Lois, well that is exciting news, the time being a half yay seems ok,,,,lets us know when you get a yay, yay.....

I just have to lol, lol, lol, lol.. has anyone noticed a tweet from Donald T. yet and what did he think, he probably did a somersault....lo, lol, lol...I think a congressional investigation is in order, come to think of it I have not noticed any news of his latest tweets, lol, lol, lol I consider them humorous, but more insulting IMO.....

Lois Bryan

Hiiiii Michael ... no not yet ... just tried again. Maybe they've decided to only gear up for certain OS-es ... and my creaky little old Yosemite didn't make the cut.

: (( Bummer.

But I'll keep at it. If not, I'll get on the other computer and yell at them via my own images some more.

That was tremendously satisfying.

And also Twitter is not showing vertical images now

Yuri Tomashevi

It is good that you could change a Twitter look on your computer back per Dan's suggestion.

However most people will not do that and they will see your tweets like they are presented by a new Twitter design.

If you want to know how other twitter users will see your tweets - than you may think twice before returning back to old design.
