To start with I just wanted to say thank you one more time for the honor of the Tony Award. I thought for quite awhile as to whom to send it to next. There are many deserving artists in FAA. I ended up picking someone who is bubbling over with energy, is quite fearless artistically and genuinely enjoys art. That person is Mario Carta, congrats Mario!
WOW! WOW! WOW! Triple WOW!!! as I am first WOWED! to be honored to have been chosen by you Ronald, an artist I so much admire over the years! Second WOWED! to be in the company of all the previous awesome, awesome artists whom I"ve had the pleasure of meeting here that were also the recipients of this cool award and thirdly WOWED! by the sincere congrats from all my fellow artist here on FAA!
What a wonderful Sunday this turned out to be, I will truly cherish this award for much time to come.
Also it should not go unmentioned that this was possible because Abbie has been so gracious and kind as to tolerate many of my idiosyncrasies over the years as well, or I would likely not be here if not for her. Thank you Abbie!
Thank you all very much, I am truly humbled and happy to receive this honor. Now it's time to celebrate,I will have an extra glass of my favorite red wine with dinner tonight toasting and thinking of you all!
If The Tony represents the most improved artist in both abilities and behavior then YES, Mario deserves what ever award that will keep him on this artistic sojourn! Congratulations to both Ronald and Mario!
Have you ever been in a conversation, where you had no clue what was being talked about. I'm sorry to say that this is one of those for me. I have never heard of this award tradition here, which would make me surely on the bottom of the list to ever be considered for it. (^_^)
So, congrats, Mario, ...................... I guess.
Wouldn't it be funny, if it all turned out to be a ruse devised by these two, as a sort of psychology experiment in group-think sculpting, ... a psycho-sculpture, if you will, symbolizing the willingness of most humans to seek out occasions to congratulate others, being given just the right cues, in just the right structured circumstances, ... thus lending support to some adaptive behavior that fosters survival of the species.
Thank you Gaby! Thank you Kathy! Thank you Viva! Thank you Chance!
Thank you Abbie, it means a lot to me to hear you say those words!
Roger, a saga, yes I'd say so! Lol! Thank you Roger, you are an inspiration! I have been feeling a little under the weather not totally sure what the problem is maybe electrolite imbalance from working out doors an sweating a lot, anyway going in for a full exam next week, very hot, but I think of what you endured recently and I gain strength from that.
Michael, The WOW! WOW! WOW! was a homage to you. LOl! Thank you!
Drew, Drew Drew, LOl! Thank you Drew! :-)
Thank you Val!
Thank you Kevin! Have you carved any more walking sticks or made any new sculptures? :-) I have been giving a go to steel welded sculptures, I may upload some soon.
Thank you Iris! What have you been up to, sculptures?
Thank you Jim!
Thank you Tony! When I first saw Ronald's thread I passed it by as it said Tony and I wasn't sure which Tony he was talking about! Lol! Your the man and the sculptor that makes this possible! :-)
Carmen, Thank you! You are an inspiration, so much art experience, I would have to pay for! :-)
I hope I did not miss anyone, if I did Thank you to! :-)
I'm not falling for it. I'm on to you two. Abbie must be in on it as well. It's a conspiracy, I tell ya!
How could I be here all these years and not know about this? Was I abducted by space aliens at just the right moment, when the award was conceived and mentioned? Have I suffered targeted memory loss, erasing my previous knowledge of it? Did gremlins invade my computer and disable my ability to connect at a critical time? Have I somehow fallen into an almost duplicate universe, having left behind a universe where no such award tradition existed?
I tried to tell you Robert, these new art forms dealing with realms and the pareidolia and the wire sculptures that just came to me one day and the alien landing deck that was buried in my back yard were not just coincidence. Lol!
Mario, I saw your response (I'm in North Carolina for a week (and yes, I have been doing both, just not posting them here. A number of my sculptures are award-winning (?!) and I have been selling my sticks at a pretty good rate. Looking forward to seeing more of your great works, "Mr. Tony."
