Artist's Name And Image Title On Products

I'm guessing this topic has come up before, but I haven't seen it, so, please forgive me if this has already been hashed out.

I've had several customers voice their disappointment that my name and image title don't show up anywhere on the product or framed print. One customer has asked me to sign tote bags or add a label on the inside that will say "original image by...". Another asked me to create a label to put on the back of a print.

It would be really nice if FAA could find a way to stamp the bottom of coffee mugs, add labels to totes, clothing items and the back of framed prints, or otherwise find a very subtle way to add the image title and artist name to all products.

I realize there are obstacles and costs to this, but I believe it would really enhance the customer's experience, as most like to be able to show their piece is an original.

Do others feel similarly to me on this matter?

Only greeting cards have our names on them. You can sign your name on your images before upload. But they should not be obvious.

Several customers is not most customers. I haven't heard about that kind of request here.

Thanks Jessica. Sadly several customers for me is "most customers". LOL BTW I really like your recent swan images. They are quite beautiful.

i sign my work, but i doubt they would add a special tag in bags. a label on an image would be nice. i think other places do something like that. it would make a nice option to have a title or name attached to the frame as a plaque?

to date, no one ever asked for that out loud. not to me anyway

The trouble is that we are really just licensing our work to FAA for them to print on their products and sell to their customers (even if we have brought the customers to this site) so if any label goes on it would say FAA or Pixels

Great idea but probably cost prohibited.

FAA is not really a custom shop, it is a mass production shop, or I should say they use suppliers that do mass production.

I can see why the issue and many other issues of this nature come up. If you do 100 sales a month and it comes up with three of your buyers, that is not a very big deal compared to if you do 5 sales a month, now it is a much bigger deal.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a solution to most of the issues of this nature. It is just the nature of the beast.

I agree with Gill and Floyd, but thought it worth a discussion.

From local shows I know it the other way: nobody wants text ON images/wall art and I do not at all.
May be it is different with tags or removable labels. But that will be much more expensive because of the enhanced workflow.
