Sponsored Ads On Social Media

I've seen this sponsored ad appear on Facebook and Instagram with my art recently. Does the whole world see it with my art or is it just targeted at me and I am the only one who sees it with my art?

You see it, not others.

David,

I'm seeing mine too and I doubt ANYONE else is....

That's what I thought Jessica and Rich

I see my own art as well, but I also get ads with art from other FAA artists.

"Personalized retargeting".

Elisabeth - yes I've seen the same.

Western - I sorta figured it was something like that.

I did save and share it on Facebook.

I see others work as well as mine. I haven't kept count but I would guess about a 6 to 1 ratio. Thats 6 of others art to 1 of mine. I've done screen captures and posted my art being pushed by FAA on instagram and FB.
It may be "personalized" by FAA but I'll take it and run with it.

David, Jeff, and others,

Then what is the "purpose" of these ads showing our own images to ourselves....???

Rich

AI is confused

Jeff Folger

Rich, all I can think is that we share the AD to our followers to FAA...??? That is my only guess....

Never seen mine... only other people

Jodi DiLiberto

I've seen mine, and shared it to my business page. My husband shared it to his.

I have only ever seen mine, except for one.

DM,

It depends on your travels. If I look at your art, FAA is paying for me to be reminded.

Jeff,

Not sure that's a good enough reason! I haven't shared and don't remember seeing a "share" button!

Abbie,

Maybe I can put in a good word with the owner, Shawn, a good friend of mine....

Chance,

Same here, probably 5 out of 6, my image.....

Jeff, Jodi and the rest of you - Regardless if we're only seeing our own art, on the bright side, it is a ready-made ad that can be shared on Facebook and elsewhere (there is a share button on the Facebook ad Rich) and I have taken advantage of that. The entire image is clickable and has a Shop Now button. Just one click or tap away from a sale! Whether that actually happens, well, I'm not terribly optimistic about it but....

David B. - I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. ;-)

Of course I was hoping, as well as the rest of you I'm sure, that we were lucky enough to be cherry picked for an FAA ad that the whole world sees.....

I do not think it matters either way. Nothing ventured, nothing lost.

People are beginning to realize FB ads are becoming somewhat less effective. There is some slippage there.

There have been a few leading stories on this happening in the marketing trade materials.

FWIW, Instagram generated 20 billion in ad revenue last year which is 5 billion more than the ad revenue of YT.

Cheers

David,

The reason that I didn't pay much attention to the FAA "ad" was that it wasn't an image I would use to attract others. IT WAS an image that I recently sold, but not my choice for an ad.

WHAT WOULD BE FUN, would be if FAA "provided" a template, somewhere on our AW that we could use to "create" an ad that could be used....rather than some AI bot choosing an image THEY like!

Don,

Yes the ad revenues are still climbing.

I have not read up particularly on FB's ad revenue, but have seen headlines that FB is problematic at these heights, but anyone can write anything.

FB Q4 revenue was 21+ billion most of which is ad revenue. FB owns IG which accounted for roughly a quarter of FB revenue last year.

Don,

I am not going to delve far into this, and it would take some digging. The TTM top line is falling.

Odd

DB,

FB saw a 51% rise in expenses in 2019 largely due to privacy and security improvements...that's a big dent in the bottom line. They are also facing headwinds in advertising and regulatory changes.

Cheers

Yes, there are also savvy marketers seeing diminishing returns with SM ads in general.

Darn. I thought the explanation might have been something like the above, when I began to see my artwork in ads by FAA and Pixels. But I will take it and run with it. I've taken screenshots on my phone and shared these posts with my social media pages. I just wish it would translate into sales ... :)
It does give me a thrill, though!

Just keep sharing and sharing and sharing...you might get a sale. Best wishes to all.

I do have some advice as far as purchasing your own work from this ad.

Don't do it!

I just purchased one of my florals for the gallery I'm in and didn't realize it would be an "owner purchase." That was a mistake on my behalf because the only way I purchase my work is through being a collector. Even though the sale is more expensive for me, I make a commission plus advertisement for my art.

Because Fineartamerica.com has excellent products, they always sell in the gallery... even more so than my originals! I'm able to recapture my investment by a small profit sale in my gallery.

Have no idea what FWIW is or for that matter, what YT is...

But I did see one of my works on both Instagram and Facebook this morning. As of 6:00 pm. I have the only like on each. lol
