Shower Curtain

When the shower curtain arrives, does it need to be ironed to get rid of any creases from folding it to ship?

I don't know what they're made of, but if they're plastic, I doubt that ironing would be a good idea. On the other hand, I have a plastic curtain that still shows creases after more than five years.

Heat can't be very good for the ink, also.

I purchased a shower curtain on Amazon. It is printed on polyester. Once unwrapped the material is quite creased. I have not ironed but it is needed.

Why not just leave it out hanging for a few days. All plastic shower curtains come folded.

I like the idea of a huge image for some of my work. This shower curtain idea is bouncing around in my head like Steve McQueen throwing a hardball in a Stalag coolerl.

My Amazon curtain has been hanging for several months. Still has creases.

Can I find customer reviews of the FAA shower curtains somewhere on this site?

What about a tapestry?

The shower curtains are not plastic; according to the description, they are 100% polyester fabric. No reason why you couldn't iron that, or you could steam it if you have a steamer.

I have a shower curtain of one of my water photographs

It was beautiful and a days hanging makes it hang true

You may iron it but I would use a wet cloth over it...but you do not need to iron at all

Thank you Abbie Shores. That was what I wanted, someone with experience with an FAA shower curtain. So, it is polyester and light weight but not water resistant? How colorfast? Keep out of direct sunlight?

I would keep all of our things out of direct sunlight

However, my bathroom is bright and it has hung in there for around a year now. I actually use it as a door curtain. It is one of my favourite things I have from the site as it shows off my bridge over water image to perfection

Obviously the colours are slightly (very slightly) muted as it is print on fabric.....always different. But it was really, really nice

Not water resistant at all.... it is more like a fabric curtain for the bath

You will occasionally find reviews for the shower curtains here: https://fineartamerica.com/buyercomments.html

There is a great review on there now.

Abbie Shores do you think pumping up the saturation would help with the muting effect?

Thank you Rose Santuci-Sofranko I did see two reviews for shower curtains there. Nothing technical said about them.

I wouldn't do that, It is fabric and it is beautiful as it is

Abbie Shores I agree. That is a wonderful image and the shower curtain looks marvelous.

Wow, Abbie...that is a GORGEOUS image!

If the folds/creases don't hang out, the next thing I would try would be to put it in a warm clothes dryer. You can spray it lightly with water before you do or throw a wet cloth in with it.

I have a shower curtain and I am also expecting to use the format for a show coming up.

I was pondering the same question.

I am going to try my steamer to get the creases out .

I might try hanging in a steamy shower, too.

As to why not a tapestry. The shower curtain has a method of hanging it built in.

I think its bigger too.

They need to hang for a bit for the vertical creases to come out.

It’s probably one of the best things you can get to easily show off your work in a large format so long as there is a photo with an aspect ratio that matches.

I don’t do shows or booths but if I had a booth I think I’d cover the outer walls of it with the shower curtains. They look great viewed from a distance, wind and rain won’t mess them up and they are far less expensive and less weight than large prints.

Don't iron it. Try steaming or hot water.

Turn your shower on really hot, and close the bathroom door for like 20 mins. The steam from the shower should get the wrinkles out!
