America and baseball are forever linked together and that link is celebrated in my still life painting "America's Game".

What IF...you lived in the United States and your favorite colors just happened to be Red, White and Blue ? If so then surely you would like to see our country's Grand Old Flag proudly displayed wherever possible and in the correct manner of the respect it is due. When our flag is hung in a vertical manner such as this, of course the stars should be at the top and on the left side facing the viewers. Perhaps the largest flag that I have ever seen on display indoors, is at Cincinnati's famous 1930's art deco train station. It hangs from the highest part of the dome in the center of the beautiful rotunda. Now the home of the city's Museum Center, everyone who comes to visit cannot miss the beauty of our ... Stars And Stripes At Union Terminal.

As our country developed, many small towns became big towns and then ultimately grew even more into big cities. That was only natural progress of course, however some things were lost when that occurred. People moved out to the suburbs and shopping centers and malls took away the customers who once supported the stores and businesses in the original downtown areas. Fortunately for us, some small towns remained small to keep their individuality and charm. Like here in colorful downtown Nashville, Indiana. Today it is a colorful, vibrant and attractive place for residents and tourists who frequently fill the sidewalks, shops and restaurants. You can still find places like this throughout our great country, so you can still find and enjoy the history, nostalgia and charm of ... Small Town America.

I captured a squirrel on a limb at Fort Smallwood Park (9-18-19) in a couple of photos and combined the two poses of the squirrel into one digitally manipulated image that appears like two squirrels raising a flag that has the emblem of acorns on it. My inspiration was the famous WWII image of the soldiers raising the flag at Iwo Jima, captured by Joe Rosenthal on February 23, 1945. It depicts six United States Marines raising a U.S. flag atop Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II.

In photography, bokeh is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a lens. Bokeh has been defined as "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light".

Aymara people carry a checkered flag called a wiphala during Aymara New Year celebrations in Bolivia which take place on the June 21st winter solstice. The wiphala flag (there are striped and checkered versions) has in modern times come to represent the indigenous people of the Andes and their various social and political movements. In Bolivia it was designated as a second national flag in 2009 in a new constitution, though not all people recognise it as such.

A patriotic image symbolizing love of country, freedom, liberty, union, pride, military might, and patriotism. The American Flag waving in the breeze, framed by green trees around a blue sky with six Blue Angel Jets in formation in the background. The jets and flag were captured at the Naval Academy in the historic town of Annapolis Maryland during an air show by the Blue Angels in 2015. I added a white vignette around the edge for enhancement even though the flag was already framed by the green trees.

These flags were seen outside a Veteran's building in the San Francisco Bay Area, summer of 2015.
In my original artwork, I added the verse from John 15:13. Interestingly, earlier this evening, part of the Bible study at a Jewish-Christian Messianic Congregation was on this very same verse.
