Music To Cope With Covid-19

I know we have a huge thread collecting information about SARs-Cov2 and COVID-19 and that it;s depressing many people (me included).

So, to be much more positive I have ONE question: what track(s) do you listen to when you want to just pick yourself up?

This is not an image thread, but a video/music thread and I hope that's ok, Abbie. If not, please close - I'm not easily offended - who can be these days ;-)

I'll kick off as I was just listening to some Blur and felt I had to share my current earworm from the wonderful album "Modern Life is Rubbish" the opening track:

... For Tomorrow

I am a big music lover and shoot a lot of big concerts and I literally have hundreds if not thousands of songs that fit the bill.

Here is a couple I have been playing a lot lately when I want a pick me up but don't want it heavier than this.

These are off of Tool's latest Grammy Award-winning album, Fear Inoculum. If you have not heard a Tool song often times they wind the song up slowly and have some beautiful transitions. Maynard James Keenan is a musical perfectionist and these guys always sound superb live no matter what the venue is. They have tremendous sound guys that hit the nail on the head each and every time they play live.

The opening lyrics of Fear Inoculum are.

Immunity
Long overdue
Contagion
I exhale you
Naive
I opened up to you
Venom in mania

he Fear Inoculum album is also a favorite of Otis The Potus (our Bassett Hound) and he will sing along with every song on this album. I would love to enter him into a Basset singing contest because he has more range than most crap singers out there. ;) Those of you that have good singing Bassets probably know what I am talking about.

Cheers

At home we listen to Soundscapes it's a cable station that plays super calming, relaxing music, I just turn it on and tune out the news it's accompanied with positive sayings that are texted on the screen from a large variety of famous people, authors and such.

Our dog Buddy loves it, he can't get enough of it and lays in front of the TV all red eyed from drifting in and out of sleep. :-)

No lyrics need and played at every live show. If you are a fan of percussion this double drum battle will most definitely pick you up. Godsmack's frontman Sully Erna not only has a great voice and is good on the guitar and piano, he can also smash it on the drums as well. Here he is battling with the band's drummer, Shannon Larkin

Music is my escape, and my taste is eclectic. I write it, too, and that's the real escape. My husband wrote the lyrics for this one. He's from Australia, but has always loved Ireland. I wrote the music and the performance is mine.

It is, Abbie, but I forgot I had the embed option disabled because I had some experiences with piracy. Here is the link. Hopefully, it will work and thank you so much for trying to listen!

Song of the Day - Fireflies by Owl City.

My son came home from sleepaway camp last summer and could not stop playing this song. He said they played it on his last night when they were around the campfire and had a little goodbye ceremony. It reminds me of a happy, carefree time, which now seems like another world altogether. I played it this morning to cheer myself up. "Everything is never as it seems..."

A ballad written in honor of British Columbia's health officer, who has been constantly updating us on the state of the virus. "The Balad of Bonnie Henry" was written by Phil Dwyer, and features Tina Jones (Gabriola Island) on voice and banjo, Daniel Lapp (Pender Island) on fiddle, Ben Dwyer (Toronto) on acoustic bass and Dwyer on the music, lyrics and production.
