What The Difference Between Pixels And Fine Art America Website?

Hi, I'm a fairly new member.
I first signed up through Pixels and later discovered that I'm also on Fine Art America but had no idea....lol.
I'm just wondering what is the difference if any between the two? Is there a purpose for having two places that seem virtually the same?

Thanks
Carmen

Hi Carmen,
I am new and also just noticed it. Seems strange. Hopefully somebody can explain this.
Thanks, Sophie

If you sell products, there is no need to mess with FineArtAmerica.com. None of the products show up there with one or two exceptions.

The idea is that the word "America" in FAA is limiting so Pixels was born as the main site. Pixels offers more products. FAA sticks mostly to fine art substrates although there are some "gift shop" items mixed in.

Each attracts its own audience and sales come in from both. From the artist's standpoint, you only have to upload to one or the other and your work is offered on both as well as many more mirror sites such as Designer Print which caters to interior design professionals and some other clone sites with different URLs.

If you look closely at the two sites you'll see slight cosmetic differences but each site uses the same backbone, databases etc.

FAA sells more home decor and Wall Art. Pixels sells ALL products, so if you want to promote all your products it's best to promote the Pixels site.

I think it is best to promote your own Premium account that also has the products so you are promoting only your own art and not the art of 500,000 other artists.

FAA - Fine Art America is the main company.
There are two websites links.
1. fineartamrica com
2. Pixels com

1. FineArtAmerica has limited products.

2. Pixels com website has all the products available.

It is easier and less confusing to use one site..
I use pixels.com as it has all the products listed.
When you sign on choose one or the other.
I always chose 2. Pixels com.
same user id and password .

If you dont want to offer any of the product listed, you leave the 'YOUR MARKUP ' blank but not zeros.
Then that product will not show on the list.
All pay out and every other details are process the same.

I have to agree with Floyd - for exactly what he said.

--> "I think it is best to promote your own Premium account that also has the products so you are promoting only your own art and not the art of 500,000 other artists."
