Hi Abbie, How To Edit My Ffa Website?

How to edit my FFA website, in general?
Why instead of showing my about-text (which is there in my profile) my website is showing 'coming soon..?'
Why the posters of my paintings appear croped from the top, while everywhere else they are okay like art prints etc?

You have to sign into your premium site and put the bio there. It doesn't transfer from FAA site. Be sure to sign in as Administrator/artist NOT buyer!
I don't understand about your prints being cropped? They look fine to me

If you have trouble editing your premium site I suggest you just leave it as it is. Just add your bio

I've been having the same issue with images in the slide show being cropped/not maintaining aspect ratio. Abbie is helping me with it. Hopefully it'll be figured out soon. In the meantime, I'm using images that conform better to the horizontal display, as the slide frames don't appear to accommodate vertically-formatted works.

everything about the two sites are the same - except the bio and the avatar. those you have to edit by logging in. i'm not sure what you mean by cropped, other than the collections which i think they turn everything into squares.

If you look at the images in his slide show and compare them to the full images in his "Artwork" area, you'll see they're being cropped. In the first one, for example, the poor woman's been decapitated. :)

i don't think you can adjust the slide show any. best to choose images that fit on there better.

I just figured it out. The site doesn't automatically detect the size, so you have to manually enter the dimensions, then click "maintain image aspect ratio". If you only know the pixel size, you'll need to do a pixels-to-inches conversion and then round up or down to whichever size frame works. (I'm not a techie person, so hopefully this makes sense to people. :)

You can see at the bottom the dimensions of the picture on the slide. Change the numbers so it's not cut off on the slide.
Or you can create your own slide and upload it as a custom slide. It's a lot easier that way!

Thanks everyone, but my problem is that the Poster views of my all paintings appearing croped from the top and bottom on FAA as well as on my premium website while they are fine in other views e.g. Art print or Canvas print, does anybody know how to fix it? I don't know how to upload a picture of it to explain it better.

If you allow the cropping feature on your images unfortunately they default the view to standard sizes to show posters. It really annoys me. I wish they would default to natural like all the other wall art.

I think if you disallow cropping you may still see it when logged in but the buyers won’t see it.

I have put this on the suggestions thread again in the hopes it will be changed although I think it has been asked before.

Yes, that is a glitch that was never fixed! I reported it long ago and the poster does NOT default to Natural

Abbie Shores

It is not a glitch

Dimensions of images mean that a poster fixed size will rarely shrink to a fit for the image so has to be cropped

Jessica Jenney

Abbie, actually the posters only do that if you enable the cropping feature!

If a buyer selects a standard size, your image will be center cropped to that size. There is no way for you to control the crop position right now. If you're not happy with your images being center cropped, then you should opt-out of cropping altogether.

When uploading, you can say you want standard sizing but they will be cropped if you do that, centrally. Unfortunately, you usually can't make your images fit into standard sizes without cropping the images.

Abbie, only if you enable the cropping feature! If you don't enable it the posters default to Natural!

I have collections where I don't enable cropping. Gill is correct. So in a way its is a kind of glitch that goes with the cropping feature.

Abbie. What we are saying is not how the cropping is done it is the fact that if you look at people’s wall art that do not allow cropping on any images their posters default to natural and show the whole image.

If you look at my wall art, because I do allow cropping on all my images then the posters default to the cropped sizes. We think they should still show the natural image like it does on art prints.

The buyer still has the option to crop them but they may not realise that there is a much greater choice of sizes which show the whole image.

Thank you everyone, now I exactly know what the problem is. I learnt, I'm not alone, others are there to help me out, which is a great feeling.
Thanks to all once again.

Jessica, you showed above how to change image sizes to fit the slide show better. I tried this and it works a treat on the computer screen. But however much I change the sizes for how it will appear on a mobile, the right hand side of the picture is still cut off. Any ideas how I can rectify that?

Gill Billington

Debra, if you turn your mobile horizontal you will see the whole slide.

The only alternative is to use a custom slide. I’ve made custom slides on my site.

Debra, yes the mobile slide is square so half of the image is cut off when you are using the template. I use custom slides foe both desktop and mobile views. The mobile custom slide is square so you can see the entire image.

You can see it here:
