Are You Having A Good Month?

Are you having a good month?

Surprisingly, I am having a decent 30 days. For me its great. 7 prints in 30 days. I dont count the masks and etc. Is it serendipity? Is it a coincidence? I finally exceeding 2000 images and I'm doing much better. Or, maybe its just " luck of the draw"I don't even know where or how they are finding me..

I'm not a big seller but I have made a couple of nice sales this month. I wonder if it might be the start of Christmas shopping season. Whatever the reason you won't find me complaining. ;)

Not for POD, but I'm doing well for originals.

Jon,

Pretty good. 30+ sales, 4-5 good ones, prints and a shower curtain and then the balance tee shirts, phone cases and of course, masks, overall number one seller. By the way, today or tomorrow, will cross over the 8,000 images mark.....

Jon,

Some might say it is the 2000 images in large part.

I will say it is the time you have put into making the effort to sell.

Meaning making the effort to sell matters more than making the 501 through 5000 plus images.

If there is a good amount of images, time learning marketing matters more.

JMO...and I am sticking to it.

I am not even having a good year! LOL

Jon, I think your hard work is paying off. Not to mention your work is excellent!

Much better month this month pay period than last month's pay period. We are finding that our Murphy Art Center gallery is also doing very well the past few months and especially these past couple weeks on art sales, including prints and framed artworks of ours! We are truly blessed!

Congratulations to all reporting good sales!

I hate to say it but the COVID months have been incredible for me. 3 of my last four pay periods have been all time new highs here on FAA. Same thing with a few of my other stores, especially eBay. Not records but year to date sales are way up over same period last year.

People are buying. When I seen the trend the first month of house arrest I used the time to upload new images and step up the advertising here and eBay. That seems to have paid off very well.

On Similarweb, traffic to FAA has increased.

The rumblings about a liquidity crisis keep building.

Part of the question is liquidity crisis for who?

Amazon's Similarweb traffic dipped in June, but is up well beyond the March numbers.

Larger parts of the US economy are in full gear.

For now......

Val, sorry to hear it has not been a good year for you. I would think that you would do a hundred sales a month just out of your Just Because Collection. Those are so cool!! I hope things turn around for you!

Having a good year thus far and the best summer season ever. My pay today will be the largest "summer" Paypal from FAA - ever.

the summer is slow like usual. last month wasn't too bad i did best apr - july. i thought people would be home in the summer, but no. masks sold well then not at all. though i do get one now and then. right now its school shopping or whatever equals that now. hoping the sales will pick up, especially at christmas when people may not want to go to the malls.

The big thing around here that is ending about now, people take off season holidays. The prices are lower.

This assumes their kids are in college or grown.

But that is still a reason to buy art. Tourist destinations etc......

I have to say, contrary to what I was expecting due to the virus and normally slower summer months, sales have been excellent. I think people who are now forced to spend more time at home (and work from home) are very likely spending more money on their home decor.

Lots of success here..love it..Most of us are kicking butt.

Mike, your niche is awesome

Bill, me too. best year to date...

Val.. I am shocked. I think your art is so unique..

Floyd, You set the bar for my next goal...6000 + images..wow..

David..Im going to go with the 2000 mark. I have not changed my advertising on Twitter at all. I use buffer and hipplay..

Rich, that is an awesome number 30+,,you also have almost 8000 images,,WOW...thats alot of editing..do you sleep?

Debra and Dave,, I envy you,,especially your images from edisto and jekyll island..Most of boneyard beach is gone now...

Floyd -

Thank you! One hundred sales a month would be nice right about now. Who knows - that collection is new and like they say you never know what people want! LOL In any case I am having a lot of fun with it.

David -

Thank you too! How's the cooking going?

Jon - Haven't had a sale since May.

If you need 2000 images and a million views I have a way to go!

Dora Hathazi Mendes

Val, you dont need to have thousands of images, marketing is more important I think. I have just a bit more than 500 paintings uploaded and doing good with them. Since pandemic started, it is like a small Christmas each month compared to last year. April was best with 70 sales, second is August with 64, now is getting a bit slower, I think because maybe they focus on shopping for school. Commissions are going well also and original sales, my main concern was that whith the extra long shipping time from Portugal to overseas it will slow down, but people learned to be more patient I think.

David M Bridburg

Yep it is a matter of how entrenched the market is.

Still have to have a good sized body of work no matter what.

This has been a great month for me!
I think I'm going to start promoting myself as...Seller to the insomniac! LOL Since COVID, most of my sales happen in the middle of the night.

I did notice more sales when I hit 2000 images. I have also been doing better with my promoting.

The month I'm being paid for today has been slightly above average, and next month (assuming no returns) will also be slightly above average. If the next two months are even a little below average, unless they are catastrophically bad, I'll exceed my best year ever on FAA. Just hope it continues.

JUST ASTOUNDED you haven't sold a thing yet! Great images, keywords, etc. Prices a bit cheap......for this quality of work.....I think we talked about this

Dora,

Thank you! I think you are right. You can see by the number of visitors I get that I am not very good at marketing and advertising. I am too sporadic at it - That's why I don't complain. I know I need to do more. So far I have sold enough to keep me from quitting and to me that is a good thing!

Oddly, I'm seeing a sharp spike over the last 90 days here on FAA. To clarify, I don't market this site (POD) at all, it just runs in the background. I only market $$$ my own site. No complaints :) though, I'll take the successes.

It is more about the marketing than the art.

But keep this in mind.

The worst art on the Internet with a great marketing plan will out sell the best art on the Internet with the worst or no marketing plan.

No one is ever going to accuse you of having anything but excellent and sellable images. Step up your marketing.

Hi Jon.
I've been holding steady and really pleased - have actually had a steady increase in sales since April. Originals and Customs have picked up too.
Of course I was surprised, but people are stuck home staring at their walls - and certainly need a little pick-me- up.

Your work is outstanding so there is no surprise there , glad to hear you are please.

Val and Philip - I am surprised, and disappointed to hear that for you both. Certainly quality is not the issue .
I sincerely hope that changes for you both.

SEPTEMBER SONG

Since virtually All of my income, for the last 45 years, came from selling my art at Face to Face venues.

And in recent years, I reduced those venues, only to the Fall,....

(playing around with POD possibilities the rest of the year.

Since in my case, those POD possibilities never turned into POD probabilities....and seems, instead, to be going toward POD impossibility...)

So,I've had to rely on the face to face income, I regularly get, starting in September .

But this year, it's ZERO and will remain ZERO for the rest of the year....Blame it on Covid 19.

So, I must be satisfied with the uptick in online originals sales, I've been experiencing, this month

And, therefor, I must keep it up, pushing sales of originals, right up to Christmas.

Well then, though, THE WRITING IS ON THE WALL

In order to make a go of it, this 85 year old coot, must face the future.

And maybe, my income can eventually only come from what I do sitting in front of this computer

And with whatever artistic skills I have left, concentrate on work specially for POD....and Stop Playing Around

Also, of course, I must work on finding a way to successfully market that work.

So, that NEXT September....I can write.."POD sales have been much better this month than those Great sales I had in August,.....And . furthermore, I expect that October sales will be better than this."

I MUST REMAIN POSITIVE

Otherwise, what am I to do......Sit in the rocking chair and grumble?

Wanna buy a Vulture Sculpture???

The year started off great but the last couple months have seen sales go way down.

Lisa Kaiser

Not really. I have had lots of encouragement by people wanting my art. I think I need to improve my skill and attitude. The good news is that my job is opening back up and I'm going on Monday.

I love painting. I do sell originals, but the work it must take to be a qualified photographer of one's art, the professionalizing of the image and the marketing are fun, but hours on the computer make me fat.

So then I have to hike. Before the fires started in my state, I had ten straight days of hiking so I considered that a good part of the month.

Alessandra RC

Lisa, your funny. Thank you. Imust say that there was a definite dry spell around April and may for me. I had a dry spell last year also. I guess you have to just grin and bear it during the slow months and not get frustrated or discouraged.

RC just keep plugging away and adding more. Your work is outstanding

Lisa Kaiser

"Are you having a good month?"

Sales wise, OK, but there's more to a good month than sales, but I'd give up all those for a crowded lunch downtown. That hasn't happened for a bunch of months.

Arro FineArt

good month? Since April I sold 1 face mask, I have lost my faith at FAA, all products markup set to almost none, still nothing.

Abbie Shores

Val, we can commiserate each other. But I don't market. So I don't expect to. My boyfriend has done better

Val Arie

Abbie,

Yes we can! That is why I don't really complain. Sometimes I think it makes no sense to put so much effort into something and not put more into a marketing plan.

I guess, as an artist, I am compelled to create but not compelled to sell. LOL

Edward Fielding

Yes, nearly ten years of work creating and marketing is paying off. Looking forward to a great holiday season as people turn to online products for gifts. Haven't seen any Christmas card box sales yet.

....

Arro - giving away your work is not a sustainable business strategy. Pricing appropriately and then working to get the word out is a better plan.

Floyd Snyder

" I have lost my faith at FAA, all products markup set to almost none, still nothing."

I have zero faith in FAA and never have had any faith in FAA, not as far as them selling my work for me. That's my job. The do their job very well and I have the utmost faith in them doing that.

FAA is not the problem...

Joined 2019 - Visitors 74,361 Right here is your problem. No one is seeing your work.

On a monthly average, I have three times the monthly views that you have and Ed has more than double what I have.

You have 579 images, Ed & I have over 6500 images.

You could be giving your art away but if no one knows it, there would be no takers.

It's like the old story of winking in the dark at a pretty lady...

Just suggesting here but I would look at a decent pricing points and a lot more marketing and more images if possible.

Best of luck to you... you have great images... there is no reason to sell them a bargain basement prices.

Arro,

Expect only a seamless fulfillment from FAA.

Some sales through the search might be a bit of gravy. Only really happens if you are selling first.

Any and all marketing is your problem, your business not FAA's.

Regardless of some emails and other elements.

Arro FineArt , your work is stunning.

If you are not selling this may be because you are putting very little effort in marketing. The problem is not only to advertise one's work, but also advertise to the right public.

I don't advertise and I don't necessarily know how to do it. I have a full time job that pays my bills, including FAA's yearly fee, and the free time I have I use to create the art that doesn't sell. But I think FAA does a great job with the site and managing things so we only have to worry about uploading, tagging, and advertising.

A.

this should be changed to an advice for sales thread..exposing our sales per month Abbie...

Like I said earlier, everyone posting here has great work. Some have stated that they dont market. I would tend to think this is true. But, how do you explain images purchased that were not tweeting or pinterest or sent out thru other SM?

I would love to know how people found an image..what sort of search did they do..
