Got the image... now I just need to get some ideas :)

my first try... an adaptive extreme edit for Abbie Shores' Edit this November challenge. A photo merge and digital painting using layers, filters and brushes in Gimp.



Google description:

A fantasy scene inspired by a famous movie and also a famous song from the past. There is a yellow brick road that lies between the grassy meadows with lots of colorful flowers blooming on each side and if you follow it into the distance there is a Gothic emerald city at end where you might find that your future lies beyond the yellow brick road.

In this one, I'm toying with the idea of turning the path with it's puddles into a strange tower with openings



I'm thinking of making it a jeweled tower

This was fun! I placed the small river in a way to feed into a large river and make it a sanctuary area for wild birds. A preserve for the birds to be safe in nature. The owl takes front focus and then you see all the other birds in the image. Also done in a slight panoramic format.

Oh dear. This poor alien has lost his way. He was out exploring and got caught in a terrible thunderstorm. He lost his bearing and has been making his way along this muddy path for hours. But wait! There is his friend in the flying saucer who has been searching for him! What luck, because as you can see by the space pods in the distance, it's a very long walk back to his city. I love a happy ending, don't you?

Hiker's Delight

Here is my first attempt.

She must hurry to get to the portal before the gate closes. The clocks are ticking. She walks along the pathway hesitantly not knowing what to expect when she arrives at the portal, but she knows she must get there quickly as Earth's Atmosphere is no longer habitable.

These tiny surfers found a water puddle their size to surf in. All these ideas are awesome I love the time travel one

No one really knew where she came from, only that she fell from the sky. She was just a child and the local critters raised her. It was discovered that she had an infinity for snails. She could communicate with them, and they would share their worldly views back to her. It was said that she would even ride on the back of them, but it would take a very long time to get any where. Around these parts she was known as the Snail Princess.

Another crazy idea I have to work on

Cold November Rain - Take 2! I didn't like the first one after all. So I deleted a layer and did some adjusting. Happier with this one.

Abbie Shores November 2020 edit challenge. In this 3rd editing version, I processed the original image for lighting and to bring out the sky details. Then I added a boy in mid-air about to land in a rain puddle. I added a rainbow in the background with reflections in the puddle.

These are amazing. I just don't know how any of you come up with the ideas! To me, any of them is the winner!

Alice Roberts appeared on a UK TV show, popularising Wild Swimming. Indeed, in the episode where she skinny-dipped, Dorothy forgot to watch the part where the local youths ran-off with her clothes!!!

My vote for brian, the only resonable thing to do with a rain puddle is to jump right to it wearing deep rubber shues..

Very creative!!!!!

A big red train travels through the wooded rural countryside delivering freight. It cuts a path with it's headlights through the early morning misty layer of fog that is burning off with the rising of the sun, making it's way to the next city train yard to hand off the cargo to the delivery trucks.

Abbie Shores November 2020 edit challenge. In this fourth editing version, I processed the original image for lighting and to bring out the sky details. I darkened the light sky areas where the indication of the sun might have been originally since the girl I added has the light coming from her left front side. I therefore added a shadow behind her. I also added her reflection to the puddle.

The sweet little blonde girl is fishing in the puddle. Her fishing bobber can be seen in the water. I then added a shark fin sticking out of the water and seemingly rushing toward her bait. I sometimes find it difficult not to inject my own sense of humor into an image. I hope someone gets a chuckle out of it.

A wild turkey from a flock who visited us a few years ago added in honor of the season...

Abbie Shores November 2020 edit challenge. In this 5th editing version, I processed the original image for lighting and to bring out the sky details. Then I added a waterfall, viking ship,reflection, flying birds and sunbeams in the distant background for a surreal or fantasy effect. I lengthened and widened the image a bit. My theme was to hearken back to the early explorers who thought the world was flat and you might sail off the edge!

As a Great Horned Owl sits on a dead tree stump on a fall season evening after a fresh rain, a squirrel pops out and freezes as it sees the owl. He's thinking, "It's time to get out of here."



I caught this Great Horned Owl on my roof one evening this summer and have been trying to figure out a photo I could work him in to. Was excited to put him in this one. He sure was a beauty.

My first one... I added a waterfall, then did some color enhancement.

My second... I did an Alfred Hitchcock effect. Leaving the trees to the left, and a little in the top right corner. Then I added a nighttime affect. I also added a train coming, train tracks, tunnel, and a man standing as if the train has no effect on him.

For my last one I did an "out of the box" effect. Then I added a fairy, butterflies, and a color application. (The full out of the box can be seen on the main page of this artwork)

Nothing elaborate this time, just a puddle jumper added. :o)

Love all the cool ideas and creativity here! especially Roger's loch ness bearded dragon! LOL

Cloud-Way To The Sun. Stepping on a pathway made of clouds, a woman ascends toward the sun/light/another life. She is surrounded by celebratory plants, trees and flowers. Blue butterflies give her company.

Here's an idea, I'm working on.

And change to a hexagon, if I keep the "Snow flake" concept

The image reminded me of a quote by the 1913 Nobel Prize winner in literature, Tagore(Thakur)
The quote is from his song March On Alone that refers to fighting against social injustice.
The tall trees that curve inward like a cave emphasize the solitary nature of the person walking.

Christmas Festival At The Park, Welcome to the Christmas Festival after the large snow showers have left. People coming from all over to enjoy the holidays outdoors. A horse drawn "sleigh" takes people through the Christmas Tree Lane they have set up and other sites around the park.

As Carlin Blahnik suggested me, I added the Description.

I started with this idea, and ended with it, by adding a waterfall to the UPSIDE DOWN image



I tried to make the path's puddles as intermittent pools...So far, I couldn't it get it to look right
