Is There Already A Follow Me On Facebook Thread?

I do not think there is. I did a search and lots of threads about facebook, but none encouraging following each other. I think it's a great idea! I'll go first:

I just recently returned to facebook after a long hiatus. Years ago I had a business page or whatever they called it back then. Right now I'm just working off a personal page that I just created. I know that those can't really be "followed" it's more a a friends connection thing. I'm not sure I'm going to create a business page this time around.

QUESTION, does it matter whether we Follow as a Person (Donna Mibus) or a Page (Art by Donna Mibus)? I just noticed I can "like" posts from both (which seems weird).

I guess what I want to know, do the Follows count from both personal AND business pages?

I am pretty sure that years ago it did matter if you followed or liked as a business or a personal page. I think it was good for some reason to have personal pages liking or following your business page. Now, I have no idea if it matters.

Yeah... I used to use the "like" thing too. I don't remember if I used the follow button or not, but I just found out that somehow I was following people that I didn't mean to (??) ha, ha...

In terms of difference, probably there isn't any... I found them as people I'm following. Only that I also just found that a "follow" can be undone, but a like not...

( as my understanding, if you change your personal profile to follow you instead of add friend, they will be able only follow you, but if a want to add you as friend they cant, If you stay with Add Friend, then they try to add you as friend, and if you dont accept the request, neither deny it, just let it be, they became your followers... something like this.. I get lots of friend requests, from unknown people mainly from groups , some even creepy ones you know the military guys, and I just let them be, so follower numbers growing.. I try to accept only real friends I know, or FAA members I know, or has many FAA connections.. and you can somewhere set if you want your following numbers to be shown or not on your personal profile )

My thoughts on a few of the questions asked above...

On Business pages, I think it's better to follow from your personal page. It may just be me, but I never scroll the news feed from my business page, so if I followed from there, I would never see your work. If we are just trying to make our numbers look good on our business page, I guess it doesn't really matter. To me, the real importance of this is to help boost each other's posts by liking them when we see them. The FB algorithm sees a post with many likes and comments as interesting and gives it more free views. Right now, if I post something to my business page, I may only get 24-35 free views, but with 3-4 likes, they may give me 50 views without paying for a boost.

On my Personal Page, I have both the "Add Friend" and the "Follow" enabled. Not a problem I have, but I know a few people where this is an issue...FB will only allow 5000 friends but an unlimited number of followers. Also, if someone sends me a friend request and I don't know them, I can turn it down, and they will become a follower. A follower will only see public posts and not friends-only posts, so I can change privacy and still have a little bit of control over who sees what. I find it easier to get followers on my personal page than followers to my business page, so that's the reason I have it enabled. On my personal page, I accept friend requests if I actually know the person, if I recognize the name, or if there is proof on the other person's page that they are an FAA artist; otherwise, I let them follow. Like the business page, posts seem to get more views the more likes they receive, we just can't see the counts on the personal page. Well, probably dumb of me to follow using my personal page, since I never use it. So changed to my Art by Donna Mibus facebook account and followed everyone that way.
