I can do it, but they will likely be digital designs. :)

But we'll see...a watercolor might sneak in.

Oh I am tempted. I didn't do the 100 day challenge due to kidding season, but now the kids are off to their new homes and the yellow flies have come out of the swamp, so a lot of time spent indoors this season. Can I keep momentum for 30 days in a row?

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I'll give it a try.

Peggy Collins

I'm in! I'll probably be relying on photography far more because the digital art was taking many hours most days during the 100 day challenge.

Sharon Popek

I'm in!

Debra Banks

Does adding just photography count? If so I am in.

Abbie Shores

Any medium as long as created the day you enter it!!

Sue Zipkin

I am interested but I'm not totally clear what you mean by this:

"The work must be completed on the day it's entered into the challenge"

Sometimes it helps to finish something a day in advance or whatever depending on my schedule....is that ok?

Thanks!

My full and total support to everyone who signs up. I have some trips coming up and won't make this one. But looking forward to another in the future. In the meantime, the 100 day challenge got me going on some personal challenges.

Milija Jakic

If my work is not too boring I would like to try :)

I'm in.

Abbie, will we also have a separate discussion as we did with the 100-day challenge?

Donna Mibus

Sue, Abbie has the final say, but with the 100 day challenge we started and finished that same day, which is what made it so challenging. I'm assuming this is the same.

Rose Santuci-Sofranko

I'm up for the new challenge...thanks, Abbie! Starts of Memorial Day.

Rose Santuci-Sofranko

Sue...if it's photography you took previously, I think it is okay if you fix it up/add effects/whatever on the day it is due? That's up to Abbie....but that is what some of us did on the last challenge.

Sue Zipkin

Thanks Donna & Rose.....

Since I paint and scan it can take a lot of time to arrive at a finished piece.
I often have a few things in the works at one time.

I think this challenge requires that we upload finished work each day. I have done some on IG but
they work differently.

I just wanna make sure I'm totally clear before I would commit.

Thanks!

Rose Santuci-Sofranko

Any specific "theme", Abbie?

Donna Mibus

Sue, a lot of us already upload new work every day, so it would not be any challenge . Pretty sure this challenge is to create something new every day.

I paint and scan too. For the 100 day it meant starting early, so I could finish and let it dry to scan.

I'm fortunate to work with acrylics and watercolor which dry pretty fast.

Nikki Marie Smith

I'm game to give it another go. :)

Lois Churchward

I am going to give it a go. I figure if the paint is not dry on my painting I can take a photo. Yes, count me in.

Matthias Hauser

For sure, I'm in :-)

GJ Glorijean

30 day challenge... Talk about consistency... WOW! I'll TRY it for June, beginning Mon 5/29/21.
So we create any new art/photo & upload each new work (no criteria exp done daily)...

Q: Will we see a group or contest where we upload it in addition to our own page?

Donna Mibus

GJ, Abbie will likely create a new discussion thread like she did for the 100 day challenge.

Hi all. Welcome to the next 31 days.

All work must be started and finished between the morning and evening of the day you add it

Painters may photograph or scan but I suggest sketches. Faster, helps practice speed sketching.

Photographers must take the photo that day, or have edited it from scratch that day.

So all work you upload a day must have been started, and finished, in that day.

We will have have two threads.

1 to discuss the challenge
2. To just add the work... No discussion

I have an image site if you don't want to upload any here (although it's great to have a challenge collection even if not for sale) http://abbie-shores.com/pixels

You can get an HTML code there to share the image you upload.

So.... If you wish to drop out, let us know.

Certificates will be awarded to those who complete the challenge.

I've still got a couple to finish for the last one. They be sent out today

Sue Zipkin

Thanks Abbie!

I appreciate the clarification.

I will have to sadly decline on that.

I would hate to commit and then find myself unable to keep up.

Maybe another one that you do I will be more prepared.

I said I wouldn't - but I'll give it a shot - especially since I found some new stuff in my tool box. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Day 16
Yellow Fin Grouper
I like the way this one turned out.
While I enjoy creating digital art, digital drawing just doesn't feel the same as putting pen or pencil to paper. I do like the scalability of creating png files, especially with a clear background. It would be nice if print background colors for png uploads could be chosen by the collector, instead of set to one color. (added to June wish list thread)

James, Nice painting of Whiskey on Lace!
Karen, great Bath Time photograph!
Lindley, such an amazing location for the Monastery!
Sharon, really cool abstract!

Unfotunately I will be away from home for 5 days or more so I must give up.

Wish you all good luck and strenght to continue and finish task.

Donna Mibus

Thank you Gaby!! I am SO happy, too!!

Robert, I do both digital and painting and I know just what you mean. I could never go 100% digital. Nothing can replace creating with your HANDS.

Milija, sorry to see you go too! (I also had to drop out). Not to worry though... Abbie plans to have more challenges and hey - you will always have bragging rights after completing those 100 days!!! :-)

James McCormack

Good news on Tootsie, Donna.

Thanks Robert, especially pleased how this turned out as I had neither whiskey nor lace.

Today, a slightly darker turn, mounting pandemic deaths in Brazil. Represented by 'Dark Rain Falls'

Sorry to hear that Milija - see you on the next challenge -

Mary Bedy

Donna, so glad your fur baby is going to be ok.

I'm glad I decided to join this challenge because I knew almost immediately what I wanted to do with it that would not take me half the day to complete every day. It's making me go a long way towards finishing something I started a few years ago, then abandoned.

Was wondering what people think about adding a color "twist" to a next challenge.....like somewhere in the art/photo would have to be the colors blue or purple....or something like that...not as constricting as making it have a certain subject.

Donna Mibus

Rose, I'd enjoy if the next challenge had a theme. A specific color would be fun.

Or specific media. Or main subject. Lots of options.

Peggy Collins

I wouldn't like any restrictions or themes but then again, I'll almost definitely be skipping the next challenge.

Day 18
Eighteen fish are done!
Time to go watch some UEFA football (soccer).
Happy Friday!

Katrina Gunn

Robert seems to be doing a theme for this challenge. I think it would have to be more of a "choose your own theme" since we have such diversity in media and styles.

David King Studio

Today I started a painting of my 30 day challenge sketch, something I've been meaning to do with many of my charcoal sketches.

Mary Lee Dereske

I love seeing the images everyone is posting. Great work.

Karen Kaspar

When I started this challenge, I thought I would stick to one theme (birds). But that's to difficult for me, because there is so much inspiration around.
With all the beautiful roses blossoming in my garden these days, I had to paint a rose today!

Rose Santuci-Sofranko

I know I wouldn't want any really specific theme....like "pansies", or a specific "medium" as that would leave many of us out....but I was just thinking some more broad things like 'reds","yellows","blues" just being somewhere in the artwork. Or even more broad themes like "nature", or "water", etc....

Gaby Ethington

I wouldn't mind having a theme to go by, I have many older photographs to go through that I could 'tweak' for some of the themes Rose suggested.

With my archives of older photographs I have been turning them into 'digital graphic art' for this challenge and I am really enjoying it. My Dad was a watercolor and sketching artist and he always wanted me to be in graphic arts when I grew up; I took a different path in life but I think he would have liked and enjoyed what can be created with the computer/AI these days if he were alive.

I love all the images people have posted in this challenge, it is so nice to look at each days postings!

DK Digital

Oops.

David King Studio

I personally wouldn't care for any kind of theme, but then I probably won't be doing the next challenge regardless of what it is. After this challenge is done rather than doing a charcoal sketch every morning first thing I think I'll be working on charcoal drawings, I won't get one of those done every day.

Lindley Johnson

Personally, I wouldn't really want a theme. Sometimes on a busy day it's hard enough to find the time, without further constrictions. Right now I'm going through photographs from previous trips that I haven't processed before. I'm enjoying all the submissions, including those who have a theme, like Robert, and those who don't.
