A lot of energy in this abstract from the movement of the warm colors. As my eye moves from yellow to orange to red I can almost feel the temperature rising.
This painting was my Day 99 entry in the 100 day challenge I'm participating in at Fineartamerica with other artists. We aim to create one new piece of art a day for 100 days straight. Design ©Donna Mibus. Unauthorized use or copying of any part my work is prohibited.

Love this thread already , Val!!
I find abstracts incredibly difficult to do well, I only have three of them. Here's the first.

Abstract squares in gouache, in blue, purple, brown, green, yellow.

I created Checkmate, my signature piece, in 1986.

Acrylic painting on fine linen canvas, 36" x 30", remastered for digital prints.

No filters, or FX/effects added — true to my original. Much of the fine detail work I accomplished using nib/dip pens.

Did you create one or more of these at your local county fair when you were a kid? This one has managed to stay with me all this time and still grabs me to this day. They were extraordinarily fun to create.

Golden sunrise abstract acrylic painting.

Golden sunrise is an abstract acrylic painting in vibrant shades of orange and teal.
Imagine sitting at the beach early in the morning, watching the sun rising above the ocean. The golden sunlight is turning the sky into a sea of warm yellow and orange color. The rays of the sun are reflected on the surface of the water. The early birds are singing their song and the fishermen are preparing their fishing nets. Everything is quiet, the air is fresh. Take a deep breath and relax. A positive way to start your day. Enjoy!

A colorful and playful abstract. This piece borderlines on printmaking and painting. I used a new technique when creating this acrylic collograph painting. I knew what kind of colors I would like to invite in and perform the magical collaboration of color play. Wanting to be inventive and explore a new experience with color and techniques, I cut up a plastic grocery bag into different sized sheets. After laying down some background colors on the canvas, I then painted each piece of plastic with different colors I mixed on my palette. I had to work quickly so the paint wouldn't dry. It became a spontaneous play on color, one by one with the rubbings, creating new textures as well. One hue would offset or inspire another color. I would position the painted plastic on or next to a specific color and use a roller or my hand to rub the wet paint onto the surface. The artwork had a very fresh look to it, young bright colors emerged with a feeling of optimism. I was pleasantly surprised with the end result.
I am so very happy to announce my artwork: NOUVEAU COLOR PLAY came in 2nd Place in the exhibit Brilliant Color II at Framations Art Gallery in St. Charles, Missouri!!! THANK YOU so much to the juror for choosing my artwork & TU to the Gallery!!! I am so honored. What a very pleasant SurprisE! So grateful!

“Glitch”

A festive scene of dancing light baubles is interrupted by a mischievous disheveled cat whose paws are clasped in anticipation of some stimulating buffoonery.

This image was created from photographs of hand-painted vinyl records and Ponderosa Pine tree branches.
