Holding Myself Together, a self-portrait by Nikki Smith, represents resiliance in the face of life's challenges as everything falls apart. It features a woman's bare back held together in a self-embrace by her many hands.
This piece was inspired by the song "All Goes Wrong" by Chase & Status featuring Tom Grennan. Lyrics excerpt:
"Now I'm walking, now I'm walking
Through the fire I'll keep burning on
Well I'll hold myself together
When it all goes wrong
When it all goes wrong
When it all goes wrong
I'll take my time I'll keep on holding on
When it all goes wrong
When it all goes wrong
When it all goes wrong
I'll pull myself together
I'll keep on holding on"
Songwriters: William Frederick Kennard / Saul Gregory Milton / Dean Mcintosh / Nathaniel Ledwidge / Kieron Mcintosh / Tom Grennan

A cute mini Schnauzer (in black and brown) sits in a comfy blue Arne Jacobsen egg chair listening to his favorite music. He loves when his master plays something from his favorite band, Three Dog Night. Even though the album is from the 70s, it still plays perfectly on the vintage record player. He especially loves the song about Jeremiah the bullfrog. Imagine a frog who drinks wine! Gotta love the 70s.

I love to paint flowers every now and then. I find all of them beautiful, and the variety of colors and shapes makes them a good exercise for artists. Hibiscus are very easy to find in the village where I usually spend my summer time in the south of Spain. A special thank you to nature for the beautiful gift of flowers!

My black cat loves Halloween. He wasn't content letting the carved pumpkin be the center of attention though. He thinks it looks much better now with him in it. This perfectly spooky design, with hanging black spiders, a friendly white ghost and orange Trick or Treat banner will be perfect as part of your Halloween decorations!
Watermark will NOT show on purchased item (cause that would be scary!)

First bathroom design.
Mid century modern bathroom in aqua and pink. I created this based on photos of vintage tubs and sinks from the mid century. Diamonds were also a popular decorating element. My two black cats love hanging out in here as long as they are not expected to take a bath. Baths are for DOGS, they think.

My black cat is visiting St. Louis. He is fascinated by the Gateway Arch and thinks it looks especially lovey by the light of the moon. The Gateway Arch is a 630 foot monument in St. Louis, Missouri. Clad in stainless steel it is the world's tallest arch. Designed by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen, construction began on February 12, 1963 and was completed on October 28, 1965. Mid century modern enthusiasts are no doubt familiar with Saarinen who designed the iconic tulip table and chair as well as the womb chair.

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the one-mile-wide strait connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Being declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers, the bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco and California. It was initially designed by engineer Joseph Strauss in 1917. The Frommer's travel guide describes the Golden Gate Bridge as possibly the most beautiful, certainly the most photographed, bridge in the world. My black cat totally agrees! He thinks it looks especially beautiful at night with all the twinkling lights.

My black cat's owners told him it rained a lot in Seattle, Washington, and boy were they right! It's a good thing he brought his umbrella this trip. Tonight he's visiting the Space Needle. It's an amazing sight all lit up. The Space Needle is a well known Seattle landmark and was built in 1962 for the World's Fair. It features an observation deck 520 ft above ground. He wanted to ride the elevator up to the top but was told cats weren't allowed.

Warm Glow Sea Shell: This piece is what I call a restyle image from a previous design of the same image. This was originally uploaded on July 11, 2013. The original title was,Three Shells. In the early 70's, I worked for a prominent greeting card company, (Gibson Greeting Cards.) I was hired as a RESTYLE ARTIST. I worked in the restyle department. My job duties were to restyle a previous design, but not completely, in order to put that cards back on the market to sell. My job was to create around a design by omitting or adding to the existing design, yet, giving the design a new appearance. I really enjoyed my job. It may not sound too fascinating, but it was. Sometimes it was easy and sometimes challenging. Every Friday the art director had to approve the assignment in order for the card to move on to production on Mondays. Therefore, I thought I would try this idea on my designs. I must say I like what I have restyled from previous designs.

the follow-up to Digital Dreams:The Layers — a digital art intro course I created for the 2008 Hot Art Colony.
Being invited back to Jackson, Mississippi was a dream come true.
Tougaloo is a Choctaw word that means where two streams cross.
In this instance, it references the intersection of the Pearl River and the Mississippi.

Athena, the daughter of Zeus, was produced without a mother and emerged full-grown from his forehead. She sprung as an idea, a light bulb, a strike of lighting, a miracle beyond Zeus’ own control. She is the goddess of wisdom revered throughout Ancient Greece but particularly in Athens, the most cultured of the Greek states. Handmade Collage. www.ErnestoCollage.com

American White Bison 2
This colorful impressionism watercolor painting captures a beautiful white bison on a lush green grass prairie.
Bison are often called buffalo but they are not the same. Bison are found in North America & Europe while buffalo live in Africa & Asia.
Bison have large humps at their shoulders & bigger heads than buffalo. They also have beards & thick fur coats.
White ones are rare & considered sacred among many Native American tribes.
Such a stately animal!
This 2nd version was created by rinsing the darker pigments off of the original painting. I was in a mood to lighten & soften the landscape.

Fairies In The Forest. Picture yourself stumbling across such a nighttime scene. Deep in the forest, you look upward through tall trees toward the starlit sky. The trees are strangely illuminated with golden streaks of light and the air is filled with flying orbs of glowing color. Is it magic, otherworldly, a fantasy of your mind? I imagine this stand of trees inhabited with a city of fairies. In fact, if you look closely you might even discover houses, buildings, lanterns, flying creatures. I invite you to enter into my dreamworld for just a bit.

Inspiration from Portrait of a Lady on Fire (French: Portrait de la jeune fille en feu, lit. 'Portrait of the Young Lady on Fire') is a 2019 French historical romantic drama film written and directed by Céline Sciamma, starring Noémie Merlant and Adèle Haenel. Set in France in the late 18th century, the film tells the story of an affair between an aristocrat and a painter commissioned to paint her portrait.

Bits of paper, watercolor and glue were blown and strewn together by a gust of wind, to create this windswept collage. Her hair is wispy like gusts, her face is patchy, marked by bits of paper that are partly stuck and partly peeling, like an old billboard poster, flaking into pieces in the downtown streets of a windy city. Handmade paper collage with watercolor.

I created this artwork in 2006. It was originally called Love Of The Universe. But I renamed it LOVE THE OCEAN. Our Oceans are in peril: Plastic Pollution, Acidification, Algae Blooms, Ghost Nets, Overfishing, Coral Destruction, Warming Oceans, Rising Oceans & More. If our Oceans die, we perish. There are two main lungs on this planet, The Ocean & The Forests> Once these are gone, so are we. Our species is supposed to be the most intelligent, but it's not. Corporations & politicians have become greedy and selfish. This is evil, and it is killing our beautiful Planet Earth, Our Only Home. There is no Planet B! I rededicate this painting to help protect the Ocean! Love & Light!

"Sandhill Cranes in Flight with Pastel Sunrise" by Patti Deters. A trio of Sandhill Cranes fly in silhouette into a pinkish orange sun as it rises in the valley between two mountains (although it could just as easily be a sunset.) This cheerful, light and airy artwork uses soft blues and a salmon pink to create a calm and peaceful outdoor nature scene. The wavy overlay and the blue shades of the hills represent water where the birds can generally be found in nature. These three black cats have it made living in this splendid mid century modern home. They can relax on the light green sofa or orange footstool, or gaze outside at the mountains in the distance. The orange George Nelson ball clock tells them how long before dinner is served, and when the owners aren't looking they can play with the plant in the yellow bullet planter. Friendly aliens in their flying saucers visit often, for an extra treat.

1971 King Seeley Thermos bottle 7263 in retro avocado green. Thermos has had the hottest products since 1904. Invented in 1892 by Sir James Dewar, a scientist at Oxford University, the vacuum flask was not manufactured for commercial use until 1904, when two German glass blowers formed Thermos GmbH. They held a contest to name the vacuum flask and a resident of Munich submitted "Thermos", which came from the Greek word "Therme" meaning "heat".
