Anyone Else Have Strange Food Habits?

I have two in particular:

Instead of snacking on chips or pretzels, I eat green olives with pimento. There's a brand called Pearls whose olives bite back. Yummy! And olives are low-carb and good for you.

Also, I eat peanut butter out of the jar. With a spoon. No bread or toast or biscuit needed. Also low-carb and yummy.

You are not strange. I also eat peanut butter out of the jar with a spoon. Peanut butter is a food group.

I don't think it's strange at all...but I love canned fish. Tuna, mackerel, sardines, herring. I love that stuff, especially packed in olive oil with various spices...but not always...sometimes just packed in water.

Delicious!

I sometimes snack on olives or pickles. I have a love of salty foods so olives sometimes fill that bill. But I also love potato chips. They are actually a problem food for me.

I eat frozen berries when I want something sweet

Yes I do J.L, I'll admit though that I have had to curve some of those indulgences to stay healthy but once in a while I still feast on a whole array of odd delicacies.

Morcilla, chinchulines, mollejas, pulpo, mondongo just to name a few. :-)

Sometimes when I'm craving cheesecake, I'll just take a couple of tablespoons of cream cheese and pour a little maple syrup on it and eat that. I don't do that often, but once in a while. Or cream cheese with honey drizzled on top.

I like black bamboo, but have not had it in a while.

I like seaweed.

I like mixed olives from the supermarket help yourself trays. Sold by the pound. I will get a third of a pound.

I eat garlic raw for my intestine.

I just had organic apple cider vinegar for my gut.

I buy the Taylor Vegetable Tray at Costco with the ranch dip in the center. I eat about 2/3 of the dip with the veggies over the course of about three days. It is like getting a veggie salad one or two times a day at under $2 per salad. I do not toss in greens but I could.

And one that Abbie would edit know All Sorts. Greatest candy of all time.

David, I do the garlic, but be careful as two much raw can actually upset the gut. I roast whole heads of it in the oven and they are so much more appetizing, I'll eat 1 or two whole heads which I can't do raw, raw only for certain dishes and just several cloves.

100% percent raw vegan...love almond, sunflower, and peanut butters with apples you need to be-careful with the brands you choose added sugars/salt or other ingredients.

Mario,

I do a tiny bit of raw once a week at most. The upset stomach is the churning of the bacteria just as I want it. That means it is working. That does not mean more is better.

J L Meadows, I have both of the cravings you have for green olives with pimento and peanut butter from the jar...but not much due because it's filling. What kind of peanut butter do you like best?

I have many weird food relationships. I love animal proteins but am sensitive to animals as food. I love making food more than eating it for some reason and food art is very important to me or food presentation.

Since my stroke, lin 2020, I drink, lterally, (except for Boost 2x daily & 1 cup of coffee) nothing but bottled water. water that is flavored with a calorie-free addative.

I can't stand even the thought of anything like soda.

I do eat peanut putter from the jar, too. yummmm! SKIPPY....creamy.

MY wife eats it on slices of apple.

I can't stand vegetables!

I can't stand vegetables either! All my life, I've hated them. In my adult life, I've found a couple that I can tolerate, but "like" is a strong word for them. I force myself to eat a few now and then because they're sort of medicinal, but I'd never snack on them.

I like Jif peanut butter best, Lisa. I think, out of all the brands, it smells and tastes the most like peanuts.

Not a fan of green olives, but I love Pearl’s large black pitted olives.

When I was pregnant with my son decades ago, that was my craving.

I’ll eat them any time of the day.

I've lost 27 pounds since September on a low carb, high fat, zero sugar, keto diet (below 25g carbs a day). It has been a challenge to change my eating habits and give up sugar. I used to love to snack on potato chips and now potatoes are off my list.

But I still crave peanut butter so I eat in on celery since I can't have bread. green olives are one of my go to snacks as well. I am learning to love lemon water instead of diet pop, mostly...

Oh and I like Jif no sugar added peanut butter! so good!

it is weird how sweet everything tastes when you stop eating sugar.

Speaking of bananas...

Always remember and never forget:

"Time flies like the wind.

But fruit flies like the bananas!" ( Frank Zappa)

I never pass up an opportunity to use that. So NEVER, I mean NEVER, mention bananas around me. :O)

"I'll chop up a banana and scramble it with my eggs."

You'll WHAT??? (falls down laughing).

Reminds me of a line from a Three Stooges short where one of The Boys says that his favorite dish is "baloney and whipped cream". :D

My grandpa used to put grape jelly on his baloney sandwiches. eww

Anything related to food is never strange to me.

Unless you eat food for animals, for example. Or paper or toothpaste. Things like that. Strange things.

(I have been told some do eat them)

For example, why eating garlic should be considered strange? It has been eaten since ancient times.
