Description
Simulation research. An image of a shark swimming near a submarine created by the Reality Centre, a multi- purpose simulator system developed by Silicon Graphics. A wrap-around display screen, with seamless graphics, fills the user's visual field so they feel immersed in the simulated environment, whilst the cockpit controls may be configured to suit the simulation. The Reality Centre was built to allow designers to test new visualisation and simulation software in a variety of applications, including flight simulation, road vehicle driver training, safety training for hazardous environments (such as underwater) or even virtual theme park rides.
