The beauty of the North Carolina and Virginia mountains and forests. The Blue Ridge Mountains, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and elsewhere. The North Carolina and Virginia mountains - trees, flowers, snow, rocks, lakes, rivers, creeks and streams. It's all there to enjoy all seasons of the year - winter, spring, summer, and fall.

The original photograph was taken in the heat of summer in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. It was pouring rain at the time, but the thick canopy of tree leaves formed a natural umbrella that sheltered one from the rain.
