If you look very closely, beneath the nest, you will find God’s undergirding hands.
This painting was commissioned by a friend, as a gift to his daughter. She and her husband are Salvation Army officers whose lives are committed to taking God’s love, wisdom and peace to the turbulence of people’s needs. At the same time, they are providing a secure and stable nest for their family.
I got my friend to pose his own hands in a caring, nurturing position and then painted the hands in and under the water.

Many of my paintings carry semi hidden images. The best known one is, Road to the Cross.

Most of my paintings are executed in oils, often over the top of other media. Many are visual stories that contain partially hidden words or imagery where the homespun and the familiar become symbols of timeless truth.
