Description
Honesdale Pennsylvania. Wayne County in the Pocono Mountains of NEPA
Old brick building with a black fire escape giving the appearance of vintage and urban grunge. Brightly colored in Yellow, blue and red.
City Sidewalks - A striking image of red doors on an old brick building with a black fire escape. The shadows make for interesting geometric patterns.
I enjoy the charm of small-town Main Streets with their window boxes and cafes. They all say " Welcome, come on in - it's a charming little life we live here ". But there are always back alleys and side streets that often betray the bucolic charm.
The nitty gritty of real life - Urban Street life - more complicated than the window box charm.
I have always liked this view though.
I could easily see a young professional living a life devoid of constraints and responsibilities. A huge loft flat to call home, sparse on furniture - but great for entertaining. Dining is often out of Pizza boxes and Chinese take-out containers, and the only bags to carry up those stairs contain the essentials, a bottle of wine and yogurt.
This old building would make a great Artist loft. Wide open spaces - and plenty of light bouncing back and forth across the rooms. Large canvas paintings, drop cloths and plenty of paint splattered everywhere. A great spot off Main Street for an Art show.
There I go daydreaming again....
Honesdale PA, a little country town with an up and coming Main St. in the Northeast Pocono Mountain region of PA. The buildings are historic, and the architecture is old town charm - I always spied upon this slightly opposing view in a side alley way. The bold geometric lines and patterns stood out to me.

Striking composition. I wish you let more bright white than that dappled grey in the background. Still, I like it!
