This is the most beautiful painting! I feel lucky and blessed that I came across it! My husband and I honeymooned in Mo’orea and we had taken many pictures in front of this church. To find that Greg Collins painted it was such a joy! We will treasure it forever!

I was super-pleased with my photo print purchase! Like many people, I’m sure, when making online purchases there’s always just a little voice of skepticism in the back of my mind. I knew I liked the image, but had to roll the dice that it would look good in person, the frame would be adequate, etc. I must say it exceeded even my hopeful expectations! First of all, the packing was stellar. The photo print did look great in person, and the framing was WAY better than I was expecting! It was ready to go with a sturdy hanging wire already in place. Unfortunately it was a gift, so I don’t have a photo of it on my wall! I did, however, open and inspect it before wrapping it and re-shipping (in the same stellar packing!). I would easily recommend FineArtAmerica and will happily shop with them again in the future…worry free!

Artist's Description
This oil painting of a cowboy taking a break in the hot afternoon sun. The old outhouse is without a roof but an old umbrella is doing the job of both shading the cowboy and his horse. The horses reins lead through the cracked open door of the outhouse where the cowboy is. The foreground is painted burnt umber, yellow, blue, burnt, green and tan. The path leading to the privy is well worn. The door of the building is weathered and cracks between the boards can be seen. The remainder of the roof is what's holding the outhouse together. An old quarter horse is holding his head in the shade of the umbrella. The background is painted in dark shades of brown, green, yellow, blue and white. A thick fence row keeps the viewer from seeing beyond the clearing where this scene is taking place.
About Lee Piper
I have been an oil painter my entire life. Many of the paintings that I do are sentimental rural settings. I also like to paint landmarks and paintings that tell a story like "Surprise Visit". My paintings have won first place in a lot of competitions and many times have been sold that way. To me there is no more satisfying experience than to complete a painting and be happy with the outcome. The next best thing is to have someone buy it! I hope you enjoy looking at my paintings and I welcome your comments. I will personalize a print once you have kept it for the duration of the 30 days. You must pay the shipping to and from me. Wonderful painting, whimsical subject - I relate well as a trail rider to the sometimes challenges of holding on to your horse while using "the facilities", whether an outhouse or a convenient heavy branch to perch on! Hahahahahaha! Even had traveling TP in my saddle bags for long rides! L/F
