Just fantastic Julie!!! There is so much character and life story imprinted on the face of the elderly. I have always liked this quote: "At 50 everyone deserves the face that he has." Author unknown. NO I DON'T THINK 50 is elderly but you know what I mean. Anyway I found this on FB, liked and clicked thru. fave,v/twt,P

Julie Dant replied:

Hi Maggie! Thanks so much for the interesting comments! I am happy you enjoyed Tom. ;0) Thanks for all the "extras" at the end there also! ;0))

I loved your description of this wonderful photographic portrait. That adds to the portrait, knowing details about a moment in time. I've known some little old men like this in a past job (bank teller) as well, and it really gives you a "warm and fuzzy' feeling to connect with someone like this. Nice job on the photo and the write up about it.

Julie Dant replied:

Hello Julie! Thank you for the wonderful comments. It's nice to hear of other people who work with the public and their impressions, too. Thanks for taking the time to read my long story! ;0))

Thanks, Julie for posting the story to go with the portrait. I can see that you are also gifted as a wordsmith and you relate the meeting with Tom McCorkel beautifully. With your combination of photographic and writing skills, I can see that the book you spoke of to old Tom would be a good one.

I loved the card. Message inside was perfect (just like I requested) Only comment - the picture seemed too large for the card (glue showing on the side) Next time I will down size the picture. I have ordered many cards from fineartamerica and have been very pleased with the artist selection and quality of the art. Paul Cutright

Artist's Description

My very first serious portrait. I was working a checkout at the place I worked one summer and this man came through my line. He had on a black felt hat with silver medallions circling it..and a crisp light blue dress shirt with blue jeans. He was by himself. Knowing he was expecting some response...I immediately held up my hand in a "STOP" motion..and said..."Well..what EVER you do..you wait to put that on when you get outside the building, 'cause I have this line of customers after you and I can't be swooning over you right at the moment!!" And he just LOVED that retort..and began laughing a hoarse, raspy guffaw, bent over and slapped his knees and then straightened back up with even MORE of a twinkle in his eye and promised me he'd wait...JUST for me!! ;0)) All the customers behind...

The book has not come to pass as of yet, however I have produced a video in which all of my Indiana houses are featured accompanied by beautiful Celtic music. It is entitled SOLEMN RELICS. In the process of searching out the old houses on...
