I noted that the color came out differently on this size of bag, it is distinctly more purple. I happen to love that color also--the larger size has perfect color, exactly like the photo. I love both of my bags.

Quite beautiful!
I was inspired to create "Honor the Bees" after reading some articles online describing the rapid loss of honey bee colonies and the larger implications to food production and overall survival. I also spoke with some local bee keepers at our Farmer's Market to gain some additional insights.
The image is a limited edition digital collage work created using elements from my photographs as well as hand drawn and digitally painted elements using my Wacom drawing tablet. Very faintly embedded in the background of the image are four Japanese Kanji symbols blessing the bees: upper left = peace, lower left = tranquility, upper right = truth, lower right = harmony.
Beth Alexander was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In her life, she has been the guardian of an astonishing variety of animals, all manner of mammals, birds, reptiles, and rodents, who continue to be her muses. Her father, both a coach and an art teacher, gave her access to plenty of art supplies at a very early age. Beth studied Art at the University of North Texas, Denton and has lived in locales as varied as Austin, Texas to Egypt. While living in Cairo, she was deeply inspired by the patterns and color palettes of the Mid East. Discovering she had become sensitive to many of the traditional artist mediums with which she had worked, she began painting digitally with a wacom tablet and stylus. Her favorite program is...
