The Pierson Brothers succeeded in building the worlds fastest coupe. The distinctive chopped top and sloping of the windshield helped set this car apart and help cement this car in history in 1950 as the world's fasted coupe, and even beat the roadsters, which didn't have a roof line and less wind resistance. The Pierson Brothers so dominated the Salt Flats the SCTA finally created a class that was open for both coupes and sedans. The top was chopped and the windshield sloped to improve wind resistance while at the same time staying with in the rules of the minimum windshield height for its competition class. The Pierson Brothers dominated the Salt flats for many years and this car is memorialized as cutting edge for its time laying tribute to the engineering and mechanical abilities of these two brothers.
