Cancer Stick is a full cartoon story board completed in 1994 for a contest sponsored by one of the largest animated companies in the world. Nevertheless, I was robbed out of the rights for my creation because this contest was targeting young talents from grade schools looking to find the gags of the day. For any kid who truly enjoys art, getting into an art contest is something they will never pass up. Years later I found out that my entire story board was the property of that animation company (character, story line, scenes, gags an all). That was a very low move by such a well-respected animation company. I hope they have ended the practice of targeting kids who have not established a place in the art word as yet. It's not nice to steal the early days of creations from a child. I will put my artwork for all to enjoy. If they want a fight I will give them one starting with the fact that I was under age at the time and so was my friend who signed as my guardian. That's what happens when you try to trick kids.
Cancer stick remains an unpublished book to date but it will be in the near future. I have decided to make the artwork available before the book is published to help raise funds for our schools.
This story is somewhat related to a close family member. The name Cancer Stick came from the word his mother used to call the cigarettes he smokes. Most of this story evolved from my imagination in 1994.
Scene 3 is the opening scene of Cancer Stick. It shows the state and condition the main character (Cancer Stick) was in. The caption within the scene tells the story of scene 3. Many wanted me to include the narration of each scene but that would take the fun out of having the book published.
