Description
This was painted in the Arreton Valley in the centre of the Isle of Wight. It was a late autumn evening and a mist covered the ground and hung in the trees. I liked the way that the mist dissolved the landscape and reflected the subtle pinks of the sunset. When I work with oil on canvas I like to use the qualities of the surface which allow the oil paints to blend together. The painting seems to evolve naturally and my aim with these works is solely to create an atmosphere.
