About Jody Poehl
I started out in my teens playing drums in heavy metal bands. Drew a lot, especially Iron Maidens mascott Eddie, And wrote a lot of lyrics. After many bands, later in life, I decided to take up painting. I painted for a number of years in acrylics and then eventually switched over to oil. I seem to have a pretty wide range of subject matter. I love doing landscape paintings because I am also an avid gardener and a lover of nature and the beauty it contains, so landscapes came quite naturally to me. Not being satisfied with just painting landscapes I also enjoy the surreal world, so I began combining the two. This really stands out in my collaboration paintings with Sylvia Perez.
