CALIFORNIA COUNTRY by Lynn Bauer - California is known as the "Golden State," and this picture seems to confirm that! The hills of Maricopa, at the eastern end of the Carrizo Plain have turned to brilliant yellow from thousands upon thousands of tiny goldfield wildflowers. But, the beauty doesn't stop there! A layer of purple created by purple lacy phacelia adds a wonderful touch! This is California country at it's finest!!
This image was taken at the end of the day as we were leaving the Carrizo Plain. What an amazing end to a wonderful spring day of exploration and photography in California's Kern County!
About Lynn Bauer
I have spent most of my life living in Southern California where I have developed an appreciation for all the beauty provided by nature. I've been blessed to be able to visit gorgeous mountains, like the High Sierra, which is home to some of the most majestic sights on earth, such as Yosemite National Park, as well as making quick trips to the beaches of the Pacific Coast, if I want to spend an evening shooting a sunset.
