Artist's Description
The Mobula ray is a genus of ray in the family Myliobatidae,
the Eagle rays. Their appearance is similar to that of Manta rays, which are in the same family. They have a propensity for breaching the surface in a spectacular manner. A Mobula rays can attain a disc width of up to 5.2 metres (17 feet) and can weigh over a ton. They are second only to the Manta in size.
